My third trasmission went out over the weekend. The last one lasted for over 90k under warranty. Can anybody recommend a transmission shop in so cal that is reasonable.

Hey guys, very new to the Ody club but jumping in headfirst and have been reading nonstop for the last week. I also have an '01 Ody with a bad trans (purposefully bought so I could rebuild myself). Something I would check with any transmission rebuilder is if they include all the Sonnex updates (updated pressure regulator valve, updated end caps to stop blow-by and most important to polish all valve bores for free movement) in their rebuilds. The reason your last one is still not running is because they didn't try to fix the fundamental problems inherent in these trannys (Overheating) which result in burnt Converters and 3rd clutch packs.
*Disclaimer: I am still learning and so don't take this as gospel but everything I've read points to this one big flaw.
Also whichever transmission you go with it's always a good idea to add an external cooler to help the longevity of your new trans.
If you care to watch it's all explained in these 2 videos:
