How many orginal miles on tranny?

Hello all! New to forum, feel like searching isnt the best way for searching for things but it helps.. and over half is tranny issues - so I was looking for if anyone knows that uses this board alot for a thread on how many miles we all have on the original transmisson? I just bought a 2003 at 122,000 miles. Maintained very well, and had the recall work on it. It never towed anything. I just had the oil/trans fluid changed at Honda just to know exactly where to start. They didnt want my trans oil changed because of there packages, but said I wanted it done anyway.

Just seeing how far .. or if there is any kind of pattern of good stories vs bad. If 60% had good stories of 200,000 miles and 40%.. then what are the 60% doing right.

Im sure there is a thread, but mileage adds daily, and some of these posts are old. Next search eventually will be aftermarket radio for iphone connection.

I have 129k on original, 2002 Ody. Had recall at 32k. Changed fluids on schedule - 30/60/90/120 and most recent at 130. Late to learn, but shorter intervals are better! Just did a fluid analysis showing high aluminum, but the trans works just fine. I will do another change shortly, and analysis, to flush out more of the aluminum and to convert more ATF from Z1 to DW-1. Maybe another quick change or two after that depending upon results. No magnefine or cooler, and no towing.

PCS4 ====> that's a new one, what's a PCS4???/

Mine is origional and has 139K.
I did install a tranny cooler at 60K though, and about 75% of it since 60k was highway miles.

When I was searching to buy my Odyssey, one thing I required for myself to buy one is either crazy record keeping with transmission service or transmission replacement with proof. AI found and bought my 2003 EX-L a month ago, and am very happy with it. More so because it had it's tranny replaced at 135k back in 2010. It now has 188k. I figure I have about 5-8 more years on this tranny if it follows the same predictable pattern, so in which case if I still own it then it will go to a local CarLife transmission shop here in Va Beach which offers lifetime warranty on all transmissions.

I bought mine with 116k and black trans fluid. The guy never kept up, but records show the factory 'jet' was done around 44k? We have 120k now, no issues. I do a drain and refill every other oil change. MaxLife fluid and LubeGard Platinum.

86k on the 1st one and Honda replaced for free. Odo recently passed 155k on the 2nd one. Hopefully we never have issues with it, I did add a cooler.

140k on original '00 EX. Just regular ATF drain and fills the first 8 years. At 90k did a full ATF swap and installed a Magnefine filter. Same at 120k.

I have 223K on my 2001 original tranny and I have towed with it. Installed a cooler (aftermarket). There is no secret. I change the fluids 3.5 qts every 30K. I have not used the symthetic fluid yet, just the regular honda fluid. I drive the vehicle moderately, usually the rpms do not go over 3K. Pulled a 3K lbs pop up camper with it for a number of miles. Runs perfect, due for a fluid change here shortly and then I will be taking a 2K mile drive in it out to CA. Just treat it nicely and use a cooler if you do any towing.

A 2001 with 223K, that's 18.5K/yr = alot of highway miles.
I think there IS a seceret: add a cooler (wheather you tow or not) and lots of highway miles.

...and if you can't do highway miles, run thru all stoplights and tell the cop "i'm just saving my transmission officer".

We have done some highway miles with some longer trips, but to honest - most of those miles are from running around town and so forth. When you have seven kids and they are involved in activities, you become a professional driving service of sorts. We put 25K miles a year on the other vehicle (dodge sprinter) - we purchase a lot of fuel each year.

2004 with 105,000 miles. I have a complete tranny flush done at the dealer at the recommended intervals in the owners manual. I do not have a cooler installed but may do it when it gets warmer outside.
