sorry, posted this first by mistake to the '98 section of the forum, but my Odyssey is one of the early 1999's bought in Feb of '99 For the most part it has been a good car, but now on to the codes present.
99 Ody Trans P1739, P0730, P0740
Ok, I have searched and read all the revelant posts I can find on these three codes. With almost 189,000 on my 1999 Odyssey, with it's original transmission, I guess I am ahead of the game compared with many others, but mine has started slipping very noticably and these three codes have appeared.
P1739 - manufacture control Transmission
P0740 - TCC Circuit malfunction
P0730 - Gear ratio incorrect.
As I understand it, the problem is most likely the third clutch pack which has been said to be made undersize by honda for the task assigned to it.
What do I do? I have kept good care of the car, changeing the oil every 4,000 with Mobil One and since 150,000, I have been changing the tras fluid every time I did the engine oil. I really don't like the looks of the 2005, but have doubts about a Honda rebuilt trans. With the milage so far past the 100,000 warranty extension, I doubt I will get any Honda goodwill. Any Idea what it should cost me to have Honda replace the transmission? or is a rebuild possible on the one I have.
Grasping at straws here, any help or encouragement is welcomed. this car is my first experience with an automatic transmission and hence with automatic transmission problems, we alway has standards before.![]()
