    Unhappy Power window multiplexer

We have a 2001 and the windows no longer work using the master switch on the drivers side. At first it only acted up when it was cold. Then it would roll the window down when you started the car for no apparant reason. Now it just responds at random.

We can roll down the window on the passenger side with that switch....

took the vehicle in to repair and they took about 3 hours to come back with its the multiplexer.

Just wanted to see if this sounds about right to you all, and is there another fix besides replacing the thing?

We have already tried messing with fuse 13 (since our door also stopped opening) but that didn't fix the door or the window.

    Ideas?

If it was a fuse it would be f15 or F13 in the passenger fuse box. The rest of the control other than the switch assembly are in the door multiplex control unit. So without doing some probing I wouldn't say they are wrong.

    Question Anything I can check

Is there anything I can do to confirm it isn't just the switch?

Get the wiring diagram and check the circuit with a meter. No magic fix unless you know hoe to test electrical circuits. Or take it to another dealer or service shop for a second opinion...

A definative test for a door lock acutator is to get a test light, clip the wire end to ground/metal, unplug the acutator, stick the pointed probe end into one of the pins on the plug. Light should blink when you move the lock switch to lock and unlock. Then move the pointed probe end to the other pin of the plug, move the lock switch to lock and unlock, light should flash again. You can now change the acutator successfully since +12 power is right up to the acutator and it is not working.
