A friend purchased the OEM fogs for his '03 Ody but never installed them. The part number is 08V31-S0X-102 ("102"). He's now selling his Ody, and asked if I wanted to buy his fogs for my '00 Ody. The part number for the '00 Ody is 08V31-S0X-101 ("101"). I examined the installation instructions for both part numbers, and apart from installing the switch to the left of the steering column for the 102 part, it would appear that the 102 part would work in my '00 Ody -- does anyone know if the 102 part would work in my 2000 Ody? For example, is the wiring long enough to go to the center console? Thanks. Greg
It is not just the location of the switch. The switch is shaped differently. The mounting location to the left is a more curved surface, while the center location on the older models is a flatter surface. The newer type switch will not fit properly in the center location. Might check to see if you have an empty slot to the left of the steering wheel where you could mount the switch like on the newer models.

I mistakenly bought 03-04 fogs for my 99. Big mistake. Not only is the switch location different, but the wiring harness is too. When I called my dealership, they wanted 75.00 for the new switch alone, I didn't even ask about the wiring harness. The switch problem can be fixed by just wiring them 'on' (with the headlights) all the time, or by even buying a generic switch from radio shack and wiring it to that and mounting that switch in your empty plug port. We tried to think of eveything. If you do that, all you would need is the different wiring harness. Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide.
Twistedwedge -- thanks for your reply and sharing your experience ... I was sorry to have heard that you were working with the wrong part ... not too difficult to do, however, because Honda doesn't provide a cross-reference of parts that may work in various model years. If you call Honda or a dealer, they will tell you that a part will work for certain model year(s); whether the part can be used in unspecified model years is your call/risk.
In any event, in addition to the switch issue, I noticed from the install instructions that the wiring harnesses were different, too. I then wondered whether I could purchase a new switch (like you were considering) and new wiring harnesses specific for the 99-02 model years. Upon calling Majestic Honda, I learned that I could get the desired parts (ie, switch and wire harnesses A and B).
That was the good news. The bad news was that the switch was something like $60 and each harness wire was $52.00. Based upon that, I decided it wasn't worth my effort to "ala carte" the fogs; instead, I decided it would be better to simply purchase the proper fog kit for the 99-02 Ody.
NOTE TO ODY04 -- My friend no longer has the fogs; he sold them. Sorry! After I received the post from NDS, and after calling Majestic Honda, I notified my friend that I was not interested in the fogs.
