i recently purchased a 1997 odyssey. how much oil with filter I need ? all of the links I find are for a paid subscription sites.
Oil change with filter is 4 quarts.

my 98 lx says 3.8 quarts
An auto parts store should have that spec on their computer. If not, start with 3 quarts, let it sit for a minute and check the dipstick. If it it is below the "add" mark,add a quart. As long as it is between the "add and Full" marks it's OK. DO NOT OVERFILL
My 95 holds FIVE quarts. I say start low and fill till it reads full, I have found that no two vehicles are alike, even if they're the same model.
1998 LX 2.3L vtec needs 4.8 quarts according to the owners manual. That's probably bone dry. It depends on what engine you have.
