    06 EXL MPG Reader???

For the life of me I can't find where the MPG readout is on my 2006 EXL DVD/NAV. I keep reading where people are getting 20 MPG in city etc but how are they determing this? Is ther a button I need to push? I don't have the touring model.

The EXL does not have that feature for 2006, only Touring.

Yes. Several people use Scanguage II. Look it up.
When I use this smilie ===> I am NOT calling you stupid.

The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.

Unfortunately, if you have an '06, the VCM causes highly inaccurate readings for mpg. Its quite annoying to watch it go from 17.x to 34.x mpg, then jump up and down depending on where your throttle is at and what speed you're at!

The interesting thing is that it is pretty close to correct mpg when done with a calculator and how many gallons used, I guess it doesn't calculate this via instant mpg but rather the amount of gallons you have to enter into the Scangauge ii on every fill up.

Its a neat device, just not worth the money for the '06 Ody's IMO...

Save yourself some coin on the Scangauge and just do it the old fashion way. Fill up gas tank to full. Write down your mileage at the time of fill-up. Drive your drive for the next few days or for the week. Fill up your tank full again. Take your mileage reading. Take beginning miles and subtract the ending miles to give you total miles traveled on the tankful. Take your amount of gallons pumped on the end of week fill-up divided into miles driven. So, as a quick example: 300 miles divided by 15 gallons = 20mpg. A lot of folks do not know how to figure MPG, and need the integrated one on the dash, but really it is very easy to do.

C'mon, does anybody do anything the old school way anymore? I would just bet there are apps for Android or Apple products.
