My 2005 odyssey radio is not responding at all. the display is blank the buttons (power, am/fm/aux etc mode tune} will not work. the dvd player will eject but the display and upper panel does squat. this happened after i entered the code and it worked fine. all of a sudden the next day the radio was un responsive but the steering wheel controls worked. we could switch modes etc but not turn it off only down from steering wheel. after disconnecting battery once again nothing up top works! two days without child noise damping abilities and counting. checked all fuses and all good. btw think someone tried to break in.

The problem may be that the liquid evaporated but minerals were left behind that caused a short. Another possibility is that the liquid weakened a component such that the radio worked for a short time after it dried out but the component then failed once current started flowing again. Even if the unit was "off" when the incident occurred, there is still some power keeping the memory intact for the security code, the station presets, etc.

You might consider looking around your area for a old-school TV/radio repair shop, someone who is willing to actually open up the unit and see what's going on inside - assuming you aren't willing to do that yourself.
