    Leak under right rear bumper?

    Aloha all,

I tried finding an existing thread for this issue but have been unsuccessful. My 2 wk old Odyssey (2006 EXL RES) has started leaking water? under the right rear bumper/tire area. Has this happened to anyone? Is that where the A/C is? My camry leaks condensation from the A/C but it leaks under the engine in the front of the car. My husband got under the van and said there looks like some kind of drain there?

Also, when I drive the van, I can hear the engine noise (fan turning on etc), is it supposed to be so loud?

    thanks,
    Lynn

The leak in the rear is not from the porta potty, fuel line, or any line for that matter. Its condensation from the AC unit. Im sure you didnt forget your 150%humid out there. You can get a baked sun tan with out the sun!

talking about the loudness>?? U have a much bigger engine now. Ease the pedal a bit or you wont see some great gas mileage. BTW how did it go cancelling your Honda care?

thanks again for the great answers!!

i didn't cancel my honda care plan with the original dealer. I told my husband about it and he said to forget it!! i was shocked. i am a big time deal shopper (coupons, coupon codes, going to multiple stores to get the cheapest price) and i was like, this is going to save about $400!!

he said he didn't care. oh well, he is paying the monthlys anyway.

i park the new van in the garage, and anytime there are more than a few drops, the floor gets super slippery. i have fallen numerous times in the garage, especially when it rains here. i tried to buy some of the garage floor coverings on the internet, with all the companies either refusing to ship to hawaii, or wanting some outrageous sales price.

i got my new all weather mats in. the rubber smell really interferes with the new car/new leather smell. eww. but the good news is.... the kids can actually walk in the van without taking off shoes/walking on knees!! yeah!!

now for the seat covers, looking into wet okole or cover king (neoprene covers). coverking websites do not have the 2006 odyssey seats configured yet. tried wet okole, they are closed for the weekend.

    happy holidays!!

    Lynn,

As a matter of fact if you go more than 2 DAYS and not see a inky water puddle under the rear quarter panel I would surely be alarmed as well in HI the Humidity is nuts and well if there is no condensation than you might have a plug and if it becomes a real plug your van will be a riding MOLD TANK..

As for Honda Care if your husbby has feelings for the sales guy oh well, you have less than 20 days to cancel and boy I would do it in a heart beat.. Thats more money for MI tyes (sp) :-)

Oops your falling cause of the leakage get a rubber mat and put it under the area. its not that much but if your on a slant it will roll.

    Got Ody Pads?

    Aloha O.H.,
You could put down one of those pooch wee-wee pads, seriously. We bought some that have adhesive strips on the edges so they could stick to your garage floor. Not sure if they're available there or can be shipped to Hawaii.

You may want to avoid putting a Depends or other hygiene product to the bumper itself as that raises too many questions. It also could be a fire hazard and creates a recurring interval replacement. Your hubby won't enjoy unexpected late night runs to the store for minivan pads, LOL.

You may want to try turning off the rear A/C and see how it does. It gets hot & humid here too but sometimes just the front system can cool off or maintain a comfy temp.
2006 Ody Touring R&N born 9 Sep 05, Slate Green Metallic & Olive (putty), Bug'flect, Sunroof, door visor & 3rd row shades, crossbars, cargo & legs, flaps, edge, well trim, Hondacare 7/100/0, 72 cupholders and 1 aftermarket coinholder, #1 van out there IMHO, much better than that Korean hari-cari sounding other brand van that also starts with an H. True Honda Odyssey Connoisseur, What connoisseur are you?
    Love it!

Very true, about the last five miles shut down the Rear control, turn it to the "OFF" postison and by the time you pull in the driveway the excessive condensation should have already run off.

Once you get the van stablized you dont need them both on, I usually leave the front on 68F and I start with the number 2 for rear for about 10 mins and then down to 1 I only do this on hot or cold days as I want the windows cleared and also the humidity to go bye bye.

    Try that..

these are great ideas. i do have piddle pads but i might have a problem with the tire ripping it when I pull into the garage? I'm gonna have hubby check it out.

I'm going to try the AC suggestion with turning the rear AC on after cooling the interior.

You guys must travel long distances. Work for me is 10 miles away, everything else is much closer. Must be the living on an island thing.

    GREAT Advice!!!

    Much Love,
    Lynn
