    Unhappy Homelink to Garage Door?

Is anyone had success to connect home garage opener to the Homlink in the Odyssey. I tried for my 2006 EX Odyssey but no luck. I even tried with "learn" button too. My Garage Door opener is Chamberlan-Whisper Drive. I was wondering any body have some more tips about this.

    Homelink

I've successfully setup my homelink to open and close my chaimberlan garage door opener.

I have a model with the rotating code thingy-majobber and I just followed the instructions in the Odyssey manual.

Your garage door opener is a rolling code system which has to learn the remotes, including the homelink individually.

1/ The homelink has to learn the remote first. This is to make sure the homelink to learn about the rolling code system.

2/ Once the homelink is trainned, the garage door opener has to learn the trainned homelink just like learning other remotes.

I had problems and actually called Homelink and they were more than helpful in solving the problem. Try their website at:

I have the chamberlan garage opener too. What I did was to reset the factory setting in the Ody (read the manual how to reset) then press the learn button in the opener unit, you have 30 second to set the Ody. Pick any button on the Ody homelink, press and hold for 10 second (until the red light stop flashing).
If the Ody took the code, the light in the opener will flash twice, if not, nothing happen

Work best if you park the Ody below the opener.

I learned from Ody posters here. Try search.

Since all its learning is the code from the remote, the instructions advises to unplug the garage door opener motor from the power source. This maybe enables Home link to learn the code from the remote with no other interference.

I did clear the codes first from homelink using the instructions.

Didn't work for me when my opener motor was plugged in. As soon as I unplugged it, Homelink took it like a charm.

    Hope this helps.

I have a Sears garage opening system and had no problems syncing the HomeLink to open our garage door. Now there is no garage door opener clipped to the sun visor.

One other tip...Park Odyssey outside garage. Supposedly there are interference that occurs if you park it in the garage under the door opener.

I got the homelink to work, but the garage door does not work like it used to before. It used to be able to stop part-way when you depressed the button again, now it either goes all the way up or all the way down.

One thing I wish the Homelink can do is to sync with Remotes from another car to one of the buttons.

Oftenly I ran out of the house and need to get something from the other car and have to go back into the house to get the keys.

Gee you guys think you are on to something new? Ever used the wonder Odyclub search feature? I just did:

HomeLink Programming for Rolling Code Garage Door Opener

With such an obscure title, no wonder none if you found it

Are you saying that you want Homelink to open the same garage door that a remote in another car also controls? It can do that. One of my Homelink buttons will open my wife's car door, and so will the remote in her car.
