How do you replace the license plate lights? One of mine is burned out already. My ody is a 2008. I did a search and found info on LED replacements but not too clear on how to replace it.
Thanks!

Howdy neighbor. :)
You just follow the isntructions for LED replacements and put in the regular bulbs. Since yours is a 2008, take it to the dealer and see if they'd cover it. I believe the lights though are considered wear and tear the dealers would goodwill 'em for the first year. Plus, it might not be the bulb that's burnt out but the socket might be a bit bad or something.
You'll notice that the '08 license plate light housing is different from other '05+ Ody's. So in this case, "Search" is NOT your friend.
I replaced mine with LED's.
How to: looking closely up at the clear lens housing (bowl shaped), you'll see that there is etched an arrow ---> pointing to the right . This arrow is located on the left side of the clear lens housing.
What you want to do, is push the whole lens housing to the right (direction of arrow), and lift out (ie down towards the ground). Don't just push hard to the right without downward motion. Ask me how I know---I broke a small plastic tab on the clear lens housing, which holds the lens on the car,so had to buy a replacement at Honda for $6.
Once this lens housing is removed, you'll see the wiring and bulb socket (not much slack). The bulb pulls straight out. Replace with either oem bulb or LED.
I used a flat head screw driver to remove the cover...just stick the screw driver on one of the side with minimal force pry it off. I also switched it to LED's
2008 and 2009 odysseys are different than the previous years. There is no need to use a screwdriver if you have either of those two above. You just have to push the light covers towards the arrow and it'll come off.
I have an Odyssey 2007 and I just got LED bulbs. I'll try the flat head screw driver approach tonight.
For those that already have LED bulbs, do you have any recommendations on exactly which bulbs to get?
I'd like to change to LED bulbs too, but I think there are way too many to choose from. Any comments on best quality ones?

With these pics, it will help you with the replacement and understand what you are working with. I took everything apart when I swapped out my rear license garnish. You don't need to remove all the inside panels as I did, just need to remove the bulb housing itself.

For a 2007, I just did mine and its a 3-5 min job.
You need a flat head screw driver, and possibly windex and a cloth to clean the guck off the lens cover.
The 07 has a curved lens cover so you'll need to stick the flat head on the short side of the lens cover. I gently inserted the flat head on the right side of the lens cover and came off.
You just pull off the bulb and insert the replacement bulb.
I just switched to LED, it was given free by the HID seller that I bought from locally in TO.
Thanks for the step by step ody2ody. I greatly appreciate it. I have my 08 Odyssey Special Edition updated with all LED's minus the plate bulbs. I will switch them out tonight!
thanks i ended up buying some LEDs to replace the license plate lights and doors from a local place
$10/2 "bulbs" just to see if wife likes them
next, all the int. lights.
Famman: What is this "Special Edition"?
well, the cheap LEDs i bought for the license plate lights weren;t nearly bright enough. mainly becuase the lights pointed towards teh rear of the veh. not enough light was getting down to the plate.

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELL GUY.
I love my LEDs. They are from eBay for just few bucks and they are REALLY worth it. It looks like a lexus bmw or a merecedes since they come standard with new vehicles.
