Help-VSA, ABS, Break lights came on

    Hi guys/gals,

I've been reading through the post regarding the VSA. I just purchased a 09 Ody EXL (no RES/NAV) and for all who are interest, for 29.6K OTD.

After driving 50 miles, the VSA, ABS and Break lights came on and that really freaked me out. The "D" was also flashing.

I brought it into the service department and had to leave it there for them to figure out what was wrong with the car.

Does anyone have any input/insight on this issue? Just got the car and its making me nervous as to the condition or the car.

    James

    Search is a wonderful tool.

Search term: ABS and VSA and Brake and light

    Faulty VSA Control Unit

Search term: ABS and VSA and Brake and lights

    Check VSA/ABS/Brake System

Identical problems and identical fixes. Your VSA control unit is faulty.

Sorry for the late post, but I got the car back from Honda the same day.

It appears to be a lose connection from the VSA which cause all the other problems. The tech secured the connection and the car has been fine since then.

Can anyone say where the VSA moduke is located? I think that can be an issue with my 2005. My VSA light comes on and the vehicle almost comes to a stop. I restart it and everything is fine. So i wanted to check this. Anyone know the cost of this module?

    Thanks!

    Check brake fluid

I had the same problem and couldn't find much help online.

One person mentioned about the brake fluid and tapping the reservoir.

My 2005 Odyssey would have the brake light flicker on the dash board occasionally. Sometimes the VSA and triangle ! sign would light up too, especially when it's cold at night. I checked the brake reservoir and looked like it was at the minimum borderline. I decided to buy DOT 3 brake fluid from the dealer for $6.52 and add it. Viola! The brake flickering went away. The VSA light didn't go on tonite, maybe it's not cold?

Either way, I plan to trade it in for 2014 Odyssey EX. I don't want to wait until the next re-design in 2017(don't like the exterior design of 2014), so mind as well just buy it now. I don't like to keep my car over 10 years old, for my family's safety sake and a trouble-free experience.

So, make sure your brake fluid level is good and hopefully it's not the faulty VSA module.
