It only happens right after I start the vehicle. When I start to move forward there is what sounds like a faint snap, like a spring popping off of something it got hung up on temporarily. You can also just barely feel it in the gas pedal. It is not part of the pedal though as the sound is coming from behind the "firewall" on the engine compartment side.
As I said, it only happens right after I start the vehicle and move forward. After that it won't do it again until after I have turned off the ignition and restarted.
Anyone else noticed this?
so far I haven't been overly thrilled with my Honda experience since I purchased it last January so this has me frustrated.
I did use the search function and got back way to many results to try sifting through them all. Sometimes it is easier just to ask and somebody that has had the problem will be kind enough to answer you and point you to the solution.
I did finally find this though. Doesn't sound "normal" to me at all.

If you are not happy then get it diagnosed by somebody rather than posting here. You state is makes a "snap" noise, that is indicative of the VSA initalizing on start up, which you also state is the only time it happens.
There was a bulletin posted at one time that stated noises like this were normal.

Hate to be an azz but what response are you looking for? Maybe you just did not notice it before? Not sure. You op'ed "what is my van's problem?" Based on your info, I said it sounded like normal VSA noise.
You want people on a van owners forum to rub a magic ball and diagnose it. From your info, it sounds normal. Sorry if it not what you are looking for.
By teh way, this site has a ton of great info. Much like that ignored book in the glove box.
And I stated that I used the search function and was not finding the information I was looking for. I didn't know anything about VSA so I didn't have a way to narrow it down. the VSA option offered to me in the first reply helped me narrow it down to the thread I finally found that did help me.
then you jump in with your search berating of me. I'm so sorry that you feel you are so special. You have contributed nothing to this thread other than pointing out you have no need to help anyone in the community.
Fortunately, the people I came in contact with 2 months ago were kind and helpful so I know that not everyone is like you.

I was looking for someone that had a similar experience because I knew this would be the right place to ask. My search efforts were not getting me the results I was looking for.
I'll thank you for throwing out VSA because it led me to a thread that was very helpful but also didn't have much at all to do with VSA but with struts.
I'm not trying to be an azz either. I just didn't expect to get chastised for starting a thread. I've been on several forums for several years so I am familiar with the workings of these forums.
I will post the results. It will be hard to accept if the answer is "it's normal" since it just started a week ago. Not that I want there to be a problem though.
No, this dealership really put me through a grinder after the purchase so I am very down on Honda ever since. The fact I have to go in for a visit within 2 months just doesn't sit well with me is all.

The point is, once you got the search term, you should have asked your questions in that thread and carried on the conversation there. You were the one dare I say whining that you got back too many search results to wade through. Then you are the one turning right back around and ranting on there's nothing wrong with asking something again even if its been answered before. Well. Guess what? The next guy in line will now have to wade/muddle through one more thread. So, you can thank other folks like yourself for asking that question one more time in their thread.
If only you calmed down a bit, perhaps you'd see a different perspective too. The reason I say calm down a bit is because you half way went after mjody too like he did something wrong by giving you a search term and asking you to search further.
The topic is closed between mjody and I as far as I am concerned. He at least gave me something to go on and could build with. Maybe I misread or mistook his first response to me but it just came off wrong for me at the time. I have since thanked him for the nudge in a different direction.
You are a senior member and yet have offered nothing to this thread other than continuing to berate. You sig even screams "stay away from me".
This is my last post in this thread so feel free to get the last word in.
