    What is a b13 service?

My wife's ody is saying a b13 service is needed soon. It has about 15% engine oil life on it. Also a a triangle with an exclamation mark appeared but disappeared when I restarted the van. Is the exclamation warning related to the b13?

I've googled this code and nothing came up.

    Thanks for any help.

look in the manual under maintenance minder i believe. you match the Letter and the Number(s).

    (B)
Replace engine oil and oil filter
    Inspect front and rear brakes
    Check parking brake adjustment
    Inspect these items:
Tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
    Suspension components
    Driveshaft boots
Brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
All fluid levels and condition of fluids
    Exhaust system
    Fuel lines and connections

    (1)
    Rotate tires

    (3)
    Replace transmission fluid
Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle
speeds or trailer towing results in higher
    transmission temperatures.
This requires transmission fluid changes more
frequently than recommended by the Maintenance
Minder. If you regularly drive your vehicle under these
conditions, have the transmission fluid changed
    every 30,000 miles (48,000 km).

I cannot even begin to understand why a person would google the maintenance code, rather than consult the owner's manual.

Perhaps they bought used and don't have a manual?

A google of the manual itself might have been more prudent. That said, planomateo was a good citizen and helped them out.

We're all owners here, nothing wrong w/ asking for help, at least in my opinion. That is what a forum is for.

Like michaelj3 says, they might not have had an owner's manual. But there are plenty of folks who do not read the owner's manual and turn to forums for help v/s opening the "big" book they got with their new van purchase though.

True. Very true. BUT. That said, we all SHOULD try to find information first before posting new threads. If the OP searched google, surely they could search here as well. No? All they needed to do was search for the terms maintenance and minder on here and they'd be on their way in less than 5 minutes flat.

When I use this smilie ===> I am NOT calling you stupid.

The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.

    Thank you very much planomateo!

My wife looked in the owner's manual and said she did not find anything about the code, so I apologize for posting the question and not looking in the book personally. I also did not know what a maintenance minder was.
