    Transmission software update?

I have a 2015 Odyssey and is suffers from transmission "shudder". Took it in and the did the TSB (3x drain and fill) and said that it would temporarily fix the issue until the transmission software update was available for the vehicle.

However, the "temporary fix" sure as hell didn't fix the shudder vibration that I get going between 100 - 120km/hr when accelerating. I am really getting tired of the vibration.

I've noticed on this forum that some people have had the software update installed already.
Should it be available for me also (I'm in Canada). Is the dealership just stalling or something?

    Thanks in advance.

Mine (2015 EX) got the software update when I brought it in for the TSB 16-060. And I'm also in Canada, not sure why your dealer said that the update isn't available for you.

Thanks for the info Nick. I will get after my dealer about the software update.

Also, thanks pappy. I will keep CV joints in mind (as they do produce the same kind of symptoms).

Hey Nick. I just went into my Honda Dealer (Niagara Region), and they said that Honda has stated that all Dealerships will get the transmission software update by August 19. Apparently, the place you had it done at must have done something else, because that software isn't even available yet.
He actually showed me the official document from Honda.
Just wanted to let you know.

Thats BS, I have to wait for august? The shudder in my new van is embarrassing, not acceptable in a new $45k van.

Honda can get their engines right but they can't make their transmissions right.

I agree 100% !!! Driving people in my van is embarrassing because they always ask me what's wrong with the van (cause of all the shuddering). I am so pissed off!

I hear that, but isn't it a little early for that common Honda problem to be rearing its ugly head? Don't they usually make themselves to be a pain in the ear (and butt) when not under the load of accelerating, or am I misremembering?

Steering wheel vibrations when accelerating in to high speed like 60 mph is due to drive train vibrations CV axles usually are the cause. Vibrations when coasting are usually due to tie rod problems. Broken motor mounts also create vibrations or clunking when accelerating. How do I know? I had violent steering shakes at greater than 60mph.
Replaced broken front active mount and the van drove better around 60 mph. When I took off on the NJ turnpike lesser vibrations were still there . Replaced CV axles even though did not feel any looseness on the axles. Possibly bent shafts. No more vibrations when accelerating BUT now coasting would have random moderate vibrations. Just replaced the inner and outer tie rods and NO MORE VIBRATIONS! Mine you my van has 195k miles on it.
Do you drive on pothole ridden roads? Certainly try the transmission update.
    Transmission shudder try Lifeguard red.

I think you meant Lubegard Red?

Torque converters are a common source of shudder in low mileage vehicles. I'm working with a friend who is experiencing this in his 2012 Camry so it's not specific to Honda.

Personally, I think that it's unacceptable on a $35 - $50,000 vehicle. Plenty of other car manufacturers don't have this issue with their new vehicles.
