Prices paid for the 2013 Odyssey

Hello, I'm a first time poster but have been researching on these forums for a few months.

We are looking to purchase a 2013 EX w/no extras and the lowest price we've been quoted is
Intrnet Pricing is at 29,841.00
Tax is going to be 1,864.06
Registration,License and Doc Fee is 259.05
Total OTD pricing is going to be 31,965.11

Edmunds and Truecar both show market value at 30,600. Should I try and negotiate for that price or even lower? We've never bought a new car and are unsure as to how many dealers match Edmunds/Truecar.

You may be able to get them to lower the price a bit more. Hudson Honda in West New York sold an EX for $31,021 out the door (price was reported at voiceofthedriver.com)

I am Canadian. I'm sorry to say that I have to pay $355xx (after everything) for a base EX.

The above is cash price ($2000 factory rebate).

So $375xx is finance/lease price for a base EX.

Just bought an ex-l w/ res. 2013 in mobile Alabama for 35 out the door

That included the 5% tax

We have had this can 3 weeks and are very upset with the gas mileage

Does the mileage get better as the van breaks in or can I expect 21 to 22 mpg

We took a trip for Christmas and averaged 20.2 mpg on the highway driving 70mph with the van loaded and 4 passengers

There have been a bunch of other posts related to gas milage, if you do a forum search you'll find them. I just did a trip from North Carolina to New York and back in our 2012 EX-L (1400 miles) and averaged 26.5 on the highway with four passangers, a bunch of luggage, and a cargo carrier on the roof.

You may be able to do better. It's not in Oregon, but Apple Valley Honda in Wenatche, WA sold a MY12 EX-L w/ RES for $31,969

It's tough to beat no sales tax in Oregon. Maybe you can find a deal like this at a dealer in Oregon?

Just got my internet and PCs setup again..been awhile after I got the van.

I agree with #1 that both mirrors should tilt down. For #5, I dont use moon roof either.

Thanks! We took about a 3 hour round/road trip today to see some family. There are only a few things I don't like about the van at this point.
1) I think both mirrors should tilt down by default when van is shifted into reverse, not one or the other.
2) I think the side mirrors should be auto-dimming side mirrors (at least on the T/TE)
3) AWD would be a very awesome addition
4) Don't really like the navigation system. We'll still use our regular Garmin 1390T - soon as I figure out where we will stick it.
5) Moon roof was wasted for us - we'll never use that feature so hate that we have to pay for it.
6) I'm a big boy, so I'd prefer the armrest for the front buckets "extended" an inch or two. With the leather, my arm keeps slipping off because it's too close/not natural position for me.

Overall, though, best van we drove compared to it & the big T one. We are very happy with our new travel vehicle.

Wondering if I should have added on Honda Care for $2100 because of all of the technology.

I would recommend that you do buy the Hondacare. Had it on our 2005 Odyssey EX-L with NAV and RES, and the Hondacare (purchased online) was used way too many times. We purchased the 2012 of the same color and model as you in Sep 2012, and have purchased the Hondacare for it as well. Paid $1,295 for the 8 year 120,000 mile with $0 deductible from Saccucci Honda Online. Did not buy it at the dealer (So. Cal)

However, I only noticed after reviewing the sales contract at home, the dealer did not charge me for DMV fees: registration and license. Obviously DMV fees are required and I will pay for them, but does this mean that I am required to register the vehicle myself? I've read that only dealers can register the vehicle on your behalf and you can't register the vehicle. I will call them to discuss, but what if the dealer tries to charge me another few hundred dollars in dealer fees to handle the DMV requirements? During the sales negotiations the dealer did list $499 in dealer fees (admin fees, doc prep fees) that I did not see listed in the final signed sales contract. I hope that the dealer will not try to collect the additional dealer fees in lieu of handling the DMV requirements.
