Turning the Ignition On and a Thud

    Hello!

We have a 2012 Touring, and when we turn on the ignition, we hear a thud on the driver's side maybe around the middle row. This happens about half the time. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Emil

Turn off rear system and try again. Does it still do it?

When I leave my RES on and start the car, sometimes the speakers pop! Could it be that for the OP as well?

I dont have a RES. I hear that thump. Havent kept track of it. Sounds like a baffle or a valve closing or opening when u start the car.. i'll keep an eye (ear) on it..

I too have a 2012 Touring, and when I turn on the ignition I hear that popping sound, it sounds like a spike in the speakears and my wife wants me to take it in to get serviced. Did anyone come up with a sulution to this problem? I was unable to read the article EE4life posted in link above. Is this a simple fix or should I listen to my wife and take in for sevice?
    thanks PC.

Since you are not able to read the article, here is what is says:

    Popping From Speakers at Start-Up
Currently Applies To: ’11–12 Odyssey and ’12 Pilot with navigation
Got a vehicle with one or more speakers that pop,
either every time or intermittently, when starting the
engine? It’s something that can happen if you turn
the ignition switch to ON (II) and wait
3 to 4 seconds before turning it to START (III).
This problem is currently under investigation, but as
a temporary fix, we’ve found that if you turn the
ignition switch to ON (II) and then to START (III) in
under 2 seconds, you shouldn’t get that noise.
If that does the trick, return the vehicle and let the
service advisor know about this so that he or she can
advise your customer. But if you’re still hearing it at
start-up, then it’s time to troubleshoot.
