WE are in market for a new Ody and looking at 2016 EX-L and trying to figure out what changed in 2016 EX-L (without and NAV or RES). I checked specs on Honda website but don't see any major change in model 2016. Am I missing anything out here ?
I'm in the same market. The price difference as of now is ~$3000 for EX-L model. I'm debating whether or not to wait a couple more months for buying a 16".
Most answers you will get will just be some ones personal preference or opinion, but the real $$$ answer depends on how long you plan to own the van. At 3 years/45K miles the $3,000 is pretty much a wash, meaning that in book value with the same miles on it the '16 will be worth ~$3,000 more than the '15, assuming all other things are equal. At 5 years/75K miles that difference will shrink to ~$2,000, so if there is a feature on the '16 you deem worth $1,000 to you then go for the newer model. If you plan to keep the van well past 5 years then save the $3,000 for sure since there isn't any significant cosmetic difference in the body.
I'd take advantage of the year-end sale since there's no significant change. I mean nobody would know it's a '15 instead of a '16 by looking and the power train remains the same. Our '15 EX-L continues to be fine.
What may be helpful to you depending on your specific needs is that the 2016 Odyssey now offers an SE version which is less expensive than the EX-L but has some fantastic features, especially if you have kids. It deletes the leather, but adds XM radio, rear entertainment system with rear outlet, and the Honda vacuum system, all cheaper than the EX-L. I think it will be great seller especially if you don't like leather but like those other features.
Thank you all for responding to my request. I normally keep my vehicle for long, my last ody was traded in after 10 years and 140K miles on it. So I think this one also I will keep for long time. So will 2016 make any bigger difference in the end ? I don't have any smaller kids and looking for leather as it looks nicer.
