Our 2015 EX-L only has 1,000 miles on it and has developed a noticeable creaking sound behind the drivers seat and sounds like it's coming from the sliding door area. It almost sounds structural. It only happens when pulling in and out of our driveway. I've searched and read the threads of similar occurrences. I even greased the "pins" and "cups" where the door catches, and it still creaks just the same.
I'm pretty frustrated about the whole thing. Hopefully someone here can comment on this, and let me know what you did to address it. It would be a great help.
Sounds like the same thing ours does but ours is on the passenger side. It is up high on the door and it sounds like it is right in my ear when I am in the passenger seat.
I haven't done anything yet, I was just going to let the dealer deal with it when I take it in for service.
On my 2006, there are round pieces of clear anti squeak tape (yes, this is what's it's called) where the rubber bumpers on the door touches the frame of the body. Not sure on the newer models but check if this squeak tape is worn or missing. I've replaced the anti squeak tape about 6x already. I bought a roll of it at an auto parts store and cut my own. Peel and stick on, works like a charm for 1/4 the price. You can use square pieces if you want to, nobody will notice it because it's clear.
We had a noise coming from the right sliding door area, which went away after I serviced the van. The only thing I did which could have caused the noise to go away was to put some grease on the door latches, namely on the loops of the latches. I have heard nothing since.

TL;DR version, it's a structural repair in the area of a weld in the B pillar in between the front and sliding doors, where excess metal in the area of a weld needs to be removed. Apparently this metal was "rubbing" across two adjoining pieces of structure.
To clarify anything from the OP, this sound was coming from just behind the front driver and passenger's head in the area of the sliding door / pillar. It was more prominent on the driver's side, but since I posted the OP it had also started in on the passenger side as well. The creaking would be noticeable when I would suddenly stop and go, and each time I drove over an uneven road or driveway.
After trying to grease all of the contact points myself with no luck, I took it to the local dealer who also could not resolve the noise either after greasing all contact points themselves and checking the TSBs.
As a last resort I decided to phone the dealer where I purchased the van to pick their brain to see if they had ever hears of this issue before. I spoke with the service manager and it turns out he has, and that there was a detailed procedure and video available from the "Tech Line" for removing some excess metal in the area near a weld. I told him that they searched the TSBs, and he told me that this is different than the TSBs and it will not be found there.
I provided this information to the local dealer. By the next day they had informed me they had called the Tech Line and were in the process of executing this procedure on one side, which required them to take the front seats out and remove a significant amount of paneling and hardware to get to the structural frame of the vehicle's B pillar to remove the bit of metal from the weld area. They repeated the procedure for the other side. I asked the service adviser for a copy of the procedure and he gladly provided it to me.
I'm happy to report that this issue is RESOLVED, and the van is QUIET when travelling over those uneven surfaces and driveways! Kudos to the original dealer that I purchased it from for passing the information along, as well as where I had it repaired for doing a good job in executing the repair procedure.
Hi ryanw2427. Glad your issue was resolved. A year and so back, I had a creaking sound develop on my '11 EX-L. Similar location (in the B-pillar) and just behind the driver's side ear. This was a metallic creaking sound which would occur after a significant rain storm. The creaking noise would go away after the car's dried up a bit. It also unfortunately led an odd issue where the door-ajar light would come on and the door would then auto-unlock (I guess the computer can't rectify the fact that the door was still locked while on-board diagnostic was registering the door was ajar). I posted a thread on that here (http://www.odyclub.com/forums/54-20...or-comes-while-driving-then-door-unlocks.html).
In case the creaking noise was similar to what you've experienced, would you mind sharing the copy of the procedure that your service adviser shared with you? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem in my 2014 EXL. Took it in for service and they immediately found the problem. They had to apply some lubrication at the hinge point of the door and the problem went away.
Just Came back from the Dealer with a 2016 EXL RES 2k miles only. Noise developed after 1k miles or so. Service Advisor knew right away what I was complaining about. Assigned tech to look into noise issue coming from B-Pilar driver side. I hear it constantly in basic stop and go traffic even on flat roads. Apparently there is a procedure mentioned from Tech line but I didn't get to see it as it was being used by a tech at the time. Something to do with removing seat belt tensioner panels and pry open an area so metal won't rub.
This is what's stated on my work order. "Cause: Body Panels behind B Pillar trim contacting/rubbing" Not a sound so far and I drove it hard with stop and go at the lights. Crossing my fingers. Hope this helps someone here reading this. Next thing is trying a VCM Muzzler I have been reading about to turn off ECO. Read this article about a lawsuit against Honda - VCM causing oil burning issue with 2008-2013 V6 engines. As the Odyssey didn't change much since 2010 to 2016. I have strong feeling this will happen to me. Why did I buy this????? My wife likes Honda's that's why!
It didn't take long to invoke the name of General Motors Corp.'s 1981 V-8-6-4 engine, did it? It didn't take long to invoke the name of General Motors Corp.'s 1981 V-8-6-4 engine, did it? And then Mercedes-Benz launched its all-new '99 S-Class, the model range designed to represent the pinnacle of Mercedes' technical might. And guess what? The S-Class's 5L DOHC V-8 is fitted with an optional cylinder-deactivation system. It's 1981 again. Now everyone is doing it.
