    D3 button

    Hi, anyone,

I am starting a new thread because I am not able to perform a search as one of the crucial words is less than 3 letters long.

Can anyone please tell me when I should be using the D3 button on the side of the transmition gear lever? I have a 2010 EX-L Oddy.

I tried it last night - I was travelling at 70 MPH on a highway at about 2000 RPM -then when I engaged the D3 button - there was no speed change but the RPM increaed to 4000 !!

    Thank you.

To search for D3, use the term D3*

Now. I don't mean to be rude but if you need to ask when to use D3, you need to read your owner's manual closely as oddy is not the only car that has D4 and D3. Nissans have a similar button called OverDrive on/off. D4 in essense is your overdrive gear and you should almost never need to use D3 unless you tow and are going up an incline just like you almost never need to turn off OverDrive gear in cars that have the OverDrive button.

Each gear including 1, 2, D3 and D4 I believe are described in the Owner's manual if I am not mistaken.

The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
