what do you use to cover the floor of the 2nd row middle pass through?

I just got a 2005 Ody that did not come with floor mats of any kind. I have Honda All Season mats ordered, but I know these will not cover that middle pass through part of the 2nd row. We have the 8th seat/console taken out, and the 2nd row seats on either side (need to have some separation between my two boys!) so that leaves the unsightly attachments for that 8th seat exposed on the floor. It's also a slight trip-hazard for my 7 year old as she climbs into and out of the 3rd row. But, I can't find any kind of mat to fit there - any suggestions??

Do you have a picture of exactly what this is? The page you linked has it listed but no description and no picture.

I can try to take a photo of the one I have, but the part actually came from the Gen2 vehicle. This part was there to cover the exposed rails either in the center or the side when you slide both seats together. The cover is slightly curved with 4 hooks that clip the rails. It covers the space nicely.

I was looking for a picture of the striker covers to see exactly what they are, and found them at the handa accessories website, but according to them they do not fit 2005 (or newer) Odysseys. I emailed them to ask if there was an alternative for the 2005+ Ody, and they responded that there is not. So I'd really love to see a picture of yours if you can post one so I can see what it is that you have!

Anyone else find anything that works in this area??

I can assure you that the one that I have fits perfectly...will try to take a shot of it this weekend.

I called Jason at San Leandro Honda and he said that 83310-SHJ-A11ZC (grey) is made for a 05 and newer Odyssey, this was 'not included' for the Odyssey since it would be a loose part. Go figure. So you can either order from College Hills or from San Leandro Honda

The part is shown as item 26 in this image for a 2005 Odyssey

Well, it certainly wouldn't be the first time I was told something by a professional that wasn't true! (Like the dealer who insisted Honda All Season floor mats ONLY came in black...I just put my brand new IVORY/BEIGE mats in my van this morning!)

Anyway, it looks to me like the striker cover only covers the section that runs along the front of this space (bottom of picture)... anything I can do about the three hooks that are exposed at the back of this space (top of pic)?

Here's my van floor:

I just found some older threads about this very subject (didn't see them the first time I searched...must have had the wrong search terms). And as I read about the cover piece that should be included with the van, I suddenly remembered a weird piece of plastic that was in the glove box. So I ran out to check, and lo and behold, that's what it is!

So I don't need to order the part from College Hills after all.

The cover helps, but doesn't cover nearly all of the exposed hardware, so I still want some kind of mat to put over it. Any suggestions where to get that? Just one mat the right size to go in that space...can be carpet or rubber, I don't care, as long as it finishes off that space.

The original carpeted mats, that come with the van, include a small carpeted piece that snaps onto one of the mats for that space. I like looking things up at Bernardi, because the parts picture and the list are on the same page. (although they don't always link that way)

The full set of Honda mats are $122.

I didn't get the carpeted mats with my pre-owned 2005. I had to buy my own All Season mats, which did not include that little piece (and which, I believe, don't have the snaps on them for the piece you're talking about). Is it possible to get this piece without buying an entire set of floor mats?

The piece of carpet with the snaps is designed to cover the space and be snapped to the second row carpet so it will not slide around to cause a hazard. You can always get a small piece of carpet (samples from a carpet store) and use velcro to attach to the striker cover. The carpet can be cut to cover the entire space between the second row and the third row. To clean it up, you can have the edge bound at a carpet store.

Thanks everyone... I ended up finding a small area rug at Walmart for about $6 that covers the entire space between the seats and tucks far up under the 2nd and 3rd row all season mats, so it should stay in place well. Seems to be working fine!

I too have the factory piece of carpet for my '07 designed to fit between the seats when center seat removed. But when I ordered the all-weather mats, I wanted more protection for that section as well, so I bought a black all-weather runner mat (about 3' long I placed on top of the carpet piece that runs into the third row. You can find them at auto parts stores for $10-20.

We decided for an upcoming summer trek that we'd leave the center seat at home, and discovered that the supplied "covering" carpet is NOT wide enough to cover all the floor hardware, and that the snaps are intended for connection to the OEM carpet mats, but NOT to the Honda All-Weather mats - which have been in the car since Day 3 off the dealer lot.

Like mdlab, I'll have to look for a "similar" mat, but has anyone found these in ivory?

The all weather mats are supposed to go over the carpeted mats, not used instead of them. Did you not get the included carpeted mats?
