Honda i-VES DVD system questions

I am thinking again about adding a Honda i-VES system to our 2003 Odyssey, but I have some questions:

1) Can you get an adapter some have mentioned on other threads here so that the sound from the DVD unit does not have to use the RF modulator? If so, what is the part number and how much does it cost?

2) I am also thinking about getting the Honda 6-disk in-dash cd changer. So, that would occupy the area under the factory cd player. Therefore, I would have to put the i-VES in the alternate location -- which turns the cupholders into a DIN location. Does anyone have this arrangement and, if so, how does it look and work? The installation instructions on the 6-disk changer look quite simple and *SHUDDER* I think I might actually try to do that myself.

3) Is it even POSSIBLE to add both the 6-disk changer and the i-VES to the system. I would think so according to what I read in the descriptions on HandA Accessories, but, hey, it never hurts to ask.

I purchased the 5 year/100,000 mile HondaCare Warranty from Meagan Seaton and I like the idea of the Honda unit being covered under the warranty.

Any thoughts, ideas, advice, admonitions??? Input would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you are looking for opinions, so here goes:

For the $1800 + dollars you are about to spend, you could get a nice head unit (AM/FM/CD with great sound), a DVD/CD/MP3 changer to go under the driver/passenger seat, a nice overhead monitor with IR headphone setup, new speakers, keep your cupholders, keep your extra din slot under the head unit, have money to spare, and have better flexability in the long run!

Do a search for some really nice systems in this Forum (plus answers to all your other questions). Good luck and post pics when your done!

If factory warranty is a consideration, you may want to check on what is covered. I think OEM accessories at time of vehicle purchase are covered, but if you add them later I am not sure.

As far as if you can add the OEM changer and the DVD Ives, yes that can be done.

To me it would come down to how much of a "factory look" you want. If you don't want to change too much from the look and can get it included under Hondacare, going the DVD-IVES and Honda Changer route would be the way to go. This way would also be less likely of a theft target.
