Question Help on exterior miror

Today I turn the right side miror to clean around it and the clip that hold the spring behind the miror in the miror body pop out.

The spring fonction is to apply pressure on the miror body pivot so it stay at the position you set it.

Did that happened to anybody ?

If I turn the miror glass all the way one side I can see the clip inside, but I don't have enought place to squeeze my fingers or tool to reinstall the clip.

Does anyone knows how or can I remove the miror glass from the miror body so I can access the clip more easily?

Forget it! I had the same problem except the whole mirror was apart and on my workbench. I huffed and I puffed for hours but no luck. I even called it a few choice names but it didn't help. I think that the Honda factory must have a special hydraulic press or something. Oh well it was only about $139 for a new one.

By the way, just grab the mirror and lift up and twist it a little and it will come out. There's about four little ears that holds it in place. Good luck with the rest though because you have to remove the entire inner door panel the remove the mirror body for replacement.

Thank you for the tip of how to remove the mirror, I crisp my eyes and pull hard hopping nothing breaks and I finally got it.

Thank you also for the advise on all the words I my have to say to accomplish that task !!!

I'm now in vacation in Cap Hatteras in NC, buth as soon I get home I think I might have a chance putting back the spring clip using a C clamp and a modified socket to pass the electrical wires.

I'll give you news wheather or not I get it in place.

Thumbs up Mirror Replacement

Nice reference user Hey!
I used Majestic both for replacement items and their handy maps and parts schematics.
We had the auto broker send us a new mirror when we discovered they mass dented the original drivers side mirror before we were delivered our van last year.
The replacement itself was a BXtch because you have to undo the door panel clips and reeeach way inside to clip the electric plug for the mirror motor cord. The brackets and inside plastic cover are easy to meddle with for removal and reinstallation.
