Water behind dash/on floor mats
Greetings,
I have a 2001 Odyssey EX, and since I've moved from the dry desert southwest to a more humid summer climate in Alaska, I'm getting water behind the dashboard. You can hear it trickling around when you take a turn or sharp enough curve, and eventually it suddenly decides to dump onto the passenger's feet from the general vicinity of the footwell heat/ac vents. I've had a couple reports of small amounts of water dumping onto the driver's feet, but the quantity that we've seen come out on the passenger side is prodigous - perhaps a half liter at a time.
This only happens when I'm running the AC, and it never happened in Arizona. I'm thinking this is condensation getting hung up somewhere underneath the dash or inside the ductwork. Anyone else have the problem? Does anyone know what to do to give this water some other escape hatch than onto peoples' shoes?
Thanks much!
