Does Ody Olive = Pilot Fern

We were at the dealership tonight and decided that Slate Green EX-L is the color for us. Only choice left is Olive or Gray interior.

They only had an Slate Green with gray. So we did not get to see the olive interior.

We have a 04 Sage Brush Pilot with Fern interior. I was wondering if the 06 Ody Olive is the same as our 04 Pilot Fern?

I do not have the Olive interior, but I believe Olive is the color previously known as Fern. (The older Odys used to have a Fern interior also.)

From what I recall, the fern was/is a bit darker.

My Wife and I chose the Olive with our Slater green, and we love it. It's a great compliment to the exterior. We previously had an '04 with Ivory leather, which I like alot, and was aprehensive about the Olive.

The olive is very subtle. Give it some thought, cause you spend most of your time in the van looking out, not out looking in.

The Slate Green EXL/Nav/RES was available at our dealer with Olive and Gray interior. We got the gray interior. To us, the Gray matches the Slate Green better than the Olive. The Olive is a tad too bright for us..!

This Olive is much deeper in color than the Fern. We also had a Pilot--White/Fern. This Olive is quite different. I think it looks pretty good, but that's just my opinion.
You should really see it for yourself in person.

The Olive is similar to a muted mint green. I find it very pleasing. From what I've seen, the Fern in the Pilot is darker.

Rusty

Where did you get your Ody. Bobby Rahal? And how much did you pay?

I detailed my experience at Bobby Rahal Honda in the Prices Paid thread. Do a search for my postings and you'll find it.

Olive Isn't Fern

Some folks are right on, others who don't have this color are way off. Fern is the color of a green Ridgeline's interior. It's much darker than Olive, pure green (almost OD), not sure if it matches that of the Pilot. The Olive interior is poorly named as it isn't very green at all. It is definitely not Olive as in goes with a Martini. Muted mint was good although I'm not sure how something visual gets audibly muffled, LOL. It's more like silly putty in color, a modeling clay if you will, green overtones, not plant based. Think very nuetral, very soft looking, subtle was a great word to describe it. You will love it, especially over B3G (Boring Battleship Blah Gray). I respect other opinions but 'bright' isn't a word I would associate with Olive interior either. If had to use one word I would pick "refreshing" or just "fresh", I know, that's two words.

I accepted a deal with Olive interior sight unseen. I had seen a swatch and got a 'promise you'll love it or we'll get you something else' from the dealer. The picture is worth a thousand words cliche' fits here for sure. I like the Olive interior the best of the 37 vehicles I've owned (I'm in my 40's and trade one every couple of years). Our dealer says this color is the most underated of interior choices, probably because of the name and limited color combos. See it for yourself, you too will be pleasantly surprised!

The only possible Olive drawback is matching mats although being nuetral it doesn't clash with anything except Neon Tartan. Honda makes black mats, Weathertech is close enough to match in their gray. I chose clear Exactmats.

Don't buy without exploring all options.

All we are saying... (sing along)... is give SGMO a chance...

To me, the olive is a tad too brightened for the Slate Green exterior. My kids call the olive interior a smoothie color. As soon as I heard smoothie from my kids, I made up my mind for the gray. The olive doesn't seem to match the rest of the panel very well. To me, the gray interior is a lot better blend than the olive. Gray is a lot easier to match with OEM accessories. Again, everyone has their own opinion and taste. If you like olive interior, that is great..!

We just bought an 06 EX-L Slate Green with Olive. We love the color, but the carpet gets dirty very easily. We would have chosen the gray to get the darker carpet color if we had it to do over again. I have a 03 CR-V with back carpet and it never shows dirt. Something to think about when choosing colors.

It's All Good

Coleman_lot,
I can see how the reaction from your kids helped you with your decision. We all have our own tastes and I didn't want to come across negative. Each person views color differently and I respect your choice regardless of the reason. I think all of us could agree that any prospective buyer should see every color available inside and out before making a choice.

The important thing is we are all happy Ody owners exchanging ideas.

Dwelty,
Scotchguard works well on Olive even though I didn't put it on until recently (just after the first serious juice stain). Between that and clear Exactmats I think I can hold the sand & stains at bay. No need to snow/mud mats here unless they're Hurricane resistant. Anyone found an Ody Flotation Device yet, Ebay has nothing listed for once.

Your quotes above were contradicted. You expect others to like olive as you. You had negative comment on gray color. And yet, you respect other opinions..!

Myself, I am giving my opinion on gray verses olive. I have not asked anyone to purchase gray interior. The choice is their..!
