PHOTOS of Arrow Lakes in British Columbia, Canada
I would like to share with you a wonderful part of BC..before summer vacations.
The Arrow Lakes (over 300 km long) in the interior of British Columbia, along the Columbia River, are little known to the general public. The beauty of this area speaks for it self. The majority of the tourist traffic goes directly to nearby Okanagan Lake or Shuswap Lake.
This is a typical "off the beaten path" destination. For anyone who likes nature, wildlife, scenery, great adventure and exploring a new area, this is a highly recommended destination.
This "hidden gem of the West Kootneys" is home to some of the best heli- skiing in the world (Kootenay Heli Skiing and CMH Heli Skiing), and to the greatest (Nakusp Hot Springs and Halcyon Hot Springs)and best natural ( St. Leo Hot Springs) hot springs in Western Canada.
This area offers many activities from Columbia Kayaking, kokanee fishing, exploring natural hot springs to great hiking. To learn about local history and view activities offered there see: http://www.nakusphotsprings.com/index.htm
Here are some photos I took in the past:

Highway No. 6 between Nakusp and Fauquier -early May. After cold and snowy winter in Alberta, on the way to Fauquier. Yes, I am "Fascinated by the Colors of Spring".

Upper and Lower Arrow Lakes in Burton. View (to North) of Saddle Mountain after sunrise.

View of Valhallas Mountais from Burton.

Old Marina in Fauquier. This scene reaminded me a scenery seen in...Venice..calm waters and huge wooden pilars!

Arrow Lakes with many hidden beaches is full of pleasant surprises! It could satisfy any adventurous soul. Here at McDonald Creek is one of many spectacular views along Columbia River and Arrow Lakes in BC.

Early Morning Shadows - Abstract.
Bridge on Highway No.6 crossing Caribou Creek in Burton.
Picture taken after sunrise.

Picture of "Arrow Tipi" in the West Kootenays in BC. This is another "abstract" photo taken against blue sky....

View of Upper Arrow Lake before storm seen from ferry between Galena Bay and Shelter Bay.
