Rainbird sprinkler help?

Wayyy off topic...

We moved into a house with a sprinkler system. Hooray!
The sprinkler system wouldn't work. Boo!
I installed a new Rainbird ISM-9 timer and it worked. Hooray!
Just came back from vacation and the lawn is brown. Boo!

The timer reads err and what looks to be a capital M or could be a backwards 7 and a forwards 7.

I looked on the rainbird site and in my manual and can't find that code.

Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks!

Rainbird manual

Look at page 40, it seems to be saying a short in the circuit for station 7.

If that is the case, it's a shame the timer is not smart enough to simply not use station 7 and water the rest of your garden.

Total,

Thanks for the manual link - I have it in hard copy as well.

Based on my limited experience, this is not the solution for two reasons:
1) We only have six stations so there isn't a seventh circuit.
2) The code isn't just one 7, it is two 7s. The first on is facing backwards. This is why I think it is trying to make the letter "M".

Thanks for looking!

Page 27 talks about Err M - it's the master valve. That may explain why it was unable to water any of your garden.

Good question. But, you know, we're all guilty of that sometimes.

Total,

Thanks for not giving a RTFM.

I did look through the manual, especially in the troubleshooting area, where I expected the codes to be.

I tried to figure out what problem may have happened with the master valve, but that is beyond me.

A call to the irrigation dude is on my agenda for tomorrow.

Thanks again!

I see some fun down the road : I'm having a Rainbird system installed as part of the major landscaping work going on at my house.

And you're not that off-topic : over at www.mpvclub.com, I have an ongoing 41 page thread on the building of my house and all the work going around it.

update

Irrigation dudes came out today and replaced the solenoid (sp?) of the master cylinder.

$80+ and 15 minutes later, the sprinker system works!

Thanks for the advice!
