Hit from Behind today

Going for an estimate on Monday.

Luckily no on hurt, but I think she was under the influence. Police came wrote the report, and let us go.

Any ideas on Bumper cover replacement?

Hope to keep it; its paid for, has 97,800 miles, no tranny issues, and just spent $600 on brakes, oil change maintenance items, and power slider latch. Runs great.

Would like to get an '07, but not ready for the note....

My 01 LX Granite Green got a new front bumper 3 yrs ago after about the same level of damage as yours. Our Honda body shop has a super reputation and did not disappoint. Still looks great. Plan to keep it several more years.

Hope you get yours back into shape quickly with minimal hassle!

Bumper Cover Cost

Assuming there is no damage below the bumper (ie: foam or honeycomb impact zone etc..) I was hearing 700.00-800.00 for a new cover painted and installed in the USA.

In Canada the number is just under 1000.00 Cdn out the door but things are definitely cheaper in the US.

Even if it costs you money out of pocket if the van runs well and its paid for it is worth the money to fix it.

What is the insurance like in your area ? We have no fault in Ontario which means my insurance would pay for it (less the deductible which is $600.00 for me). Basically anything under a 1000.00 isn't worth calling the cops and calling the insurance people over. Its sad but if you do your rates go up due to an accident (even if not at fault).

Luckily, we have the same company and agent, so I don't think I'll have any issue, since they received the citation. Claim rep said the ded. was waived for me.

Maybe they'll drop me in a few months, but for now its ok.

Why would they drop you? If you weren't at fault, the opponents policy has to cover all costs (BTW, that includes a rental for you while the car is in the shop). Hence, no deductible for you.

Repairs under way

Saw the Ins co adjuster today and left with a check for $680 to replace the bumper cover with a remanufatured one.

Went to the body shop at the honda dealer, and he said that was typical, and they have these in stock. Will just need to paint to match the color. (If they find no hidden damage)

Driving a Murano rental now, and hope to have the Oddy back by the weekend/ Monday at the latest. The shop was full, and busy so I guess 3 days is not bad to have this done.
