Lightbulb 2008 Don't want a touring but I do want Bluetooth

We had planed to purchase an '08 odyssey and was hoping for Bluetooth in the EXL NAV/RES. I don't think I want to try an add-on. I just read a post from Norb saying that the touring shows the the location of the rear obstruction in the MID. I didn't know that. Any other non-readily apparent differences between EXL NAV/RES and the '08 touring I've missed, before I give up on Bluetooh and/or the '08 Odyssey?

Also, now that PAX (Please stick to the subject at hand) is not required on the touring, how much less of a price difference do you think there will be between a touring and an EXL NAV/RES...ie) how much of a premium is there on PAX?

another thought

If you don't get BT in what you want, the 05-07 range tourings also show the location of the obstruction in the MID. So unless they have updated that to show more about the obstruction in the MID, it is available in the lower years as well.

A big part will depend on the type of standard wheels that the 2008 Touring gets. Today, the non-PAX wheels are only 16" with pretty normal tires. If the 2008 Touring without PAX has 16" wheels, then my guess is that the PAX premium will be in the $1,000 - $1,500 range. My reasoning is that the delta will cover the premium for the larger wheels plus the cost of the PAX tires.

However, if the 2008 Touring already comes with 18" premium wheels, then the PAX premium would probably be in the $500 - $750 range.

Thanks for the info! I think the post by Norm was an 05-08 ody, I should have been more specific. I guest that's one advantage to getting a touring, rather than installing the sensors on an EXL.

I did forget about the 18inch tires.

NAV should also be less expensive now too...

Since the backup camera comes whether or not you get NAV.

I'd rather have the backup monitor on the 7 inch NAV monitor.

I agree - and that will still be the case for all Odyssey's with Nav in 2008 or just touring?

yes, agreed. Go test drive a Highlander Hybrid with backup camera (the one I drove was a 2006) and check out the monitor in the mirror like the 08's will have. You may not want it anymore as trying to see it on that small of a screen (including the washout of the screen due to sunlight) will probably make you not trust the screen. It really helps for the screen to be as large as possible.

That's me. I need to get a cool signature pic, like yours. I now have a matching blue Odyssey Touring to go with my 750iL. They are both the same color (Midnight Blue Pearl Metallic versus my Nachtblau Metallic). But, the Ody is more metallic and slightly more blue than mine. I think that the Odyssey's blue is more like Orient Blue. They did not have a Highline option for the Odyssey, however.

I will probably be doing the Parrot Bluetooth and Mr. Grille upgrades to the Odyssey at some point, but the newness on the Odyssey will have to wear off first. Other than that, there is not much else I would change on the Odyssey. It is a pretty amazing vehicle. My car used to be the weekend driver, but now it never leaves the garage and we take the Odyssey everywhere on the weekends.
