KUDOS to Tim at Hondacuraworld

Greetings All,

Sorry if this seems to be a repeat post (it is). But I tried to delete it from where I originally posted it, unfortunately I wasn't able to. However I wanted to make sure Tim at Hondacuraworld gets the credit he deserves, that is why I am posting this as a new thread. This is a long post so just close it now if you are not interested!

(Original Post

Greetings All,

I would like to take the time to say that Tim P. at hondacuraword.com has been tops in his customer service too
. I have given up on Trevor at HandA because of his apparent lack of customer service .

If I may be allowed to rant , I will explain .

I ordered several items from Trevor about 6 weeks ago and told him NOT to ship it because I would pick it up since his place was on my way home from work. He emailed me back telling me all my stuff (with the exception of the Gold Emblems, which were on back order) would be ready for pick up by the time I got there. I said I would be by around 5pm (it was late morning when I spoke with him on the phone).

Well, by the time I got there to pick up my stuff (about 5:30pm), it was NOT ready. In fact it took someone an additional 20 minutes to gather the parts. Normally I wouldn't mind, but I needed to pick up my son by 6pm. .

That was just the start.

Two weeks later I noticed the full nose mask I bought from him was defective. The stitching was coming undone from 3 of the plastic clips that hold the mask to the Ody. In fact, one of the clips had come off completely. . No big deal I thought, it was brand new, under warrenty and I still had my reciept to prove it!

The HandA website states you MUST obtain an RMA number BEFORE returning ANY item or it would not be accepted, so I tried emailing Trevor several times (at least a half dozen times) and I left several telephone messages on his answering machine. BUT TO THIS DATE (over a month later) NONE OF MY MESSAGES HAVE BEEN RETURNED!

Fortunately, through this forum and Jim F., I was able to hook up with Tim P. at Honda Acura World (www.hondacuraword.com). Tim said he would be more than happy to take my defective full nose mask and exchange it for me. In fact he volunteered to send me one right away if I promised to send him the bad one !

Tim also informed me that any Honda dealer woud take back the mask with no hassles. So I decided to just bring it back to the dealership I bought my Ody at. They didn't take it. In fact they called Trevor's place (HandA) and said I had to take it back there. I was reluctant to do so since there had been no response to any of my calls/emails. But I finally did. Yes, I was able to exchange it there. I asked about Trevor while I was there and I was told he has been "busy". But I could swear his answering machine said he would return my all calls when he could. Like I said, it's been a month and still no call and no response to any of my emails! I am also certain that someone at HandA got my email since I tagged it with an "email notification" and each email was opened and displayed by someone at HandA. And no, I did not tell him I already exchanged the mask.

Oh yeah... the Gold Emblem. Trevor said they would call me as soon as it came in, which would be no more than 2 weeks. Hahahaha.... I just got an email from him 3 days ago saying they are in stock (only 3 weeks LONGER than he said it would take and MAYBE because he was finally responding to MY SEVERAL attempts to contact HIM! ...but I doubt it).

FWIW, Tim emailed me 3 days ago to ask for my credit card number and/or expiration date since it wasn't working.

Well, I don't care... I bought the emblems from Tim at hondacuraword. It was $10 CHEAPER and there was NO SHIPPING CHARGES (plus no tax since I don't live in the same state!). Well this isn't a perfect world and unfortunately there was a small misque here too. I ordered the emblems from Tim on a Friday just before the Memorial Day weekend. Tim said they were out of stock too, but would have them by Tuesday the day after the holiday. He said I would have it a few days after that. Two weeks later, still no emblems, so I contacted Tim. Turns out he was on vactaion when I emailed him and his partner told me it would be another 2 weeks. Not a big deal, I know I would eventually have the emblems, but I have been anxious and wanted to show off my new Ody in all it's glory!

Well when Tim got back from vacation, he emailed me back to apologize for the miscommunications and said he took an ADDITIONAL $20 off my cost!!! .

Customer service? Tim has that down pat! In fact he can teach many customer oriented businesses a thing or two (or a thousand!). Tim, you have my endorsement and my business from now on!

Thanks for hearing (reading) me out folks. I'm just so disappointed in Trevor's lack of follow through and customer service. And in my years, I have learned that good service will get you the business.

Even if I can't buy all the toys I might want from Tim, I can at least tip my hat to him and whole-heartedly recommend him!

DITTO

Tim is the best! I was the lucky winner of the contest he ran a couple of weeks ago, and within a week, I got a nice Odyssey Cargo Mat as promised. He'll also have my business from now on.

I agree: Tim at Hondacuraworld.com is the BEST to deal with. Below is a post I made last week on the General Discussion forum outlining the results of my research comparing prices among 3 internet parts sites:

After extensive research, I have determined that, in fact, Hondacuraworld.com has the best prices on 5 essential aftermarket items. Thanks to Tim at Hondacuraworld for helping to sponsor the Odyclub board - you've got my business!

I priced out five of the most popular items that Odyclubers say are highly desirable: wheel locks, splash guards, cargo tray, cargo mat, and leather steering wheel cover. I called Hondacuraworld and spoke with Tim, who was more than happy to match his competitors' lowest price, when possible. The total cost was $252.19, which was nearly $30 less than H-and-A Accessories, and about $5 less than Hondaparts4u. Parts were shipped within 24 hrs. of placing the order, and I received e-mail confirmation from UPS today telling me the parts are on their way.

One thing: while Hondacuraworld advertises free shipping, they do add a $2 handling charge. Still, they had the lowest total price on these 5 items, and I'm glad to order from someone who's interested in sponsoring the Odyclub. Just thought I'd pass this news along.
