Hertz Mustang GT

I've got to go to Tampa next Thursday on business, so I reserved the Shelby Mustang GT-H for my rental car. Hopefully I can avoid any speeding tickets!!!

Cool. I was thinking about getting one for a trip to vegas soon, but I dunno if it's worth the cash. A bit pricey and you only get 75 miles/day. I might get one for a day and run it down to Hoover or something. They were sold out in Nashville awhile back.

Take tons of pictures!

There was a recent article in one of the magazines where they rented 5(?) of them from different locations and had a little "fun" with them .

Yep, that article is what got me thinking about renting one. I usually get a Taurus or G6 or similar when I travel. I'm only going to be there for 24 hours, plus my total mileage will be right around 100, so the total bill should be somewhere under $150 max.... and my company will reimburse me the cost of a Taurus, so it really won't cost me too much out of pocket.

Maybe I'll go to the local Honda dealer and do some donuts in front of the showroom and take some pictures of that!!

TonyJ, you know I've always found you to be one of the most thoughtful, insightful members here at Odyclub..... PLEASE PM me the info on how to disable the traction control!

Ok, nice job.

It has a button for traction control in the middle of the dash. Its about the size of your thumb. What Shelby has done has installed a little clip behind it, that prevents you from pushing the button in, thus disabling the traction control. The botton will pop off like a keyboard button. Use a butter knife or something similar to pop it off, then remove the metal retainer clip, and your on your way. Shouldnt take but about 15 seconds.

Buy the way, for the one we reserved in Vegas, we have a new set of tires on hold at discount tire, so we can really get carried away with the burn outs.

Or if you dont want to do that, stop by a tire store before you turn it in and have them rotate the tires front to back, they wont suspect a thing. Have fun.

PS Go Purdue.
