FT Engine Motor Mount & Oil Pan Leak

I took my Honda Ody 98 to have my timing belt replacement. They told me that I need to replace the FT Engine Motor Mount and Oil Pan needs to be sealed.

Anyone has these repair works before?

Thanks!

I have, lots of little steps.

Your front motor mount is pretty easy - do not jack the engine using the oil pan, use a block of wood, and jack it on the trans housing. 6 bolts (maybe 14mm) and it's out.

The pan has a few more steps - you have to remove a piece of the trans housing (nothing major). You also have to remove the center cross member, and I believe a piece of the exhaust downpipe - not very hard stuff.

I made a cardboard cutout, and drew the pan, then numbered the bolts, and placed them on the cardboard so I'd know where they needed to go back...I think only two of the (10 or 12mmbolts) are different, but I find the cardboard is very helpful. I used the haynes manual, and it was fine for both jobs.

Give yourself a few hours on the pan, and let the gasket sealant sit overnight.

I would recommend using a Honda Oil Pan Gasket to do the job. They are $14 or so at the dealer.
