Leaking Oil Pan??
2003 Odyssey EX-L with 87000 miles. Noticed oil leak coming from the two large bolts that secure the oil pan to the tranny housing. Oil would drip onto my driveway, puddle about the size of a silver dollar. Cleaned everything up to see where the leak was coming from and looked like it was seeping from the oil pan gasket.....right under a small metal cover (flywheel cover I'm assuming??). Obviously I wasn't going to pull the pan tonight, so I opted for the simple fix......I re-torqued all of the bolts and now the leak seems to have stopped (for now).
Anyone have a similar issue? I know this probably has no bearing on the situation, but I just switched to valvoline synthetic oil. Before that, I always ran castrol syntec full synth....faithfully. Do you think the cheaper valvoline has some kind of property making it more viscous?? Maybe it doesn't have the seal conditioners of the castrol?? I don't know. I'll change the oil back to syntec next week and see how long this leak stays fixed!
Any advice or good cross-tell would appreciated!
