I have a 2006 Accord with V6 engine. It has only 30K miles on it yet.
After reading this thread, I think I should get rid of my accord before it's tranny fails.
Seems like a lot of honda cars have tranny problem and Honda just can't come up with proper fix. No wonder why honda does not put 6 speed auto tranny on their cars. If they can't make a 5 speed work, then they just can't make 6 speed work.
What shame for honda. Even Hyundai uses 6 speed automatic tranny.
I think there is some serious issue with honda quality thesedays.
Anyway, I don't want to go through all this hassle with my accord. Maybe I am a lucky guy and my accord has good transmission. But I don't think I want to take the risk.
When is the proper time to get rid of my accord? 50K or 80K miles????
For my 2009 Odyssey, I am somewhat nervous about it's transmission. But I got an extended warranty on it. So I guess I should drive it until the warranty expires.
I doubt that I would buy another honda unless they fix all these tranny issue.
BTW, I hate when dealers break parts on my car whenever I take my cars in.
I had a nightmare experience with my previous car Acura TL.
My honda dealer broke a tab with upper/center dash trim while fixing my radio creaking noise. It's not visible nor making any noise. So I am keeping it that way. But still bothers me that I have a broken part on my dash.
