Going to Disneyland for 1st time. Question about park hopper tickets

Hi all Ody drivers,

Family plans to go to Disnleyland in Anaheim, CA. Driving of course :O). It would be 1st time for me. As always with a help of the web I am on constant lookout for a better deal, money saving deals and yada, yada, yada. You know the drill.

Anyway, anyone who have visited Disnleyland, Anaheim in California... you have a question.

Disneyland offer x-days park hopper tickets. We have another family going in about the same time... a bit later... is it possible to save a bungle on the tickets by using the same tickets by two different parties.

Lets say we buy 2 adults + 2 kids 6 days park hopper tickets, where we use only 3 days out of 6 and just "pass" the same tickets to other party so that they can use those remaining, unused 3 days?

Have anybody done it recently or ever and is it possible.

I was looking at the craigslist and found that there are number of folks who is trying to sell you those unused days on tickets purchased by them... so does it really works like this or this is just another 'fishing bait' so that 'greedy' folks will pay twice for the tickets :o)

Any advice is much appreciated.

~Leon

It should be ok. Last time we went there, there were no names or anything on the tickets. Not unless they've changed them ?

We've going in May, but going to FL. I was chatting with some friends that went and they talked like what you're wanting to do is possible. We've got relatives going for part of our trip so we were considering the same thing.

Driving? Hell no. 13 hours driving vs 2 hour flight? It's actually cheaper to fly if you agree with the IRS that $.485/mile is reasonable wear/tear/fuel cost. We paid $670 for five non-stop tickets on Southwest.

if you search old threads there should be a link to a disney forum much like this one. i do not recall when the thread was posted.

Hi,

We went last Christmas. They had us put names on the tickets; however, when we were entering the gate, they didn't even scan or look at the tickets (I wonder how do they know when I was using the tickets?) The tickets expires in 7 or 14days (I forgot) from the 1st day. So I think it's just matter they check against the names or not.

Good luck & have lots of fun.

I was at WDW in Florida in December, 2006. There are different ways to purchase the tickets. Some do expire in 7-14 days or something like that, but there are also some you can purchase (for more $) that don't expire. You can pass them on to anyone you want though. I think the whole idea of writing your name on the ticket is in case you lose it/ drop it, etc. Have fun...

You might want to check out these 2 great websites for Disneyland information:

www.mousesavers.com

www.wdwinfo.com (there is a separate forum for both Disney World and Disneyland.)

Have fun!

no can do - WDW uses finger scans on park hoppers, not for sure if DL does yet or not. Mousesavers.com is an outstanding site for info on all things Disney (I have a slight addiction!) DL is running a special this spring on PH tickets - I think adults get the kids price? Being from the midwest, I grew up going to WDW, but had the opportunity to visit DL in 2003 for a long weekend. I really enjoyed how close everything is. At WDW it can easily take you and hour + to get from your on property WDW resort to a park on a bus or driving - you generally can't walk anywhere outside of the parks! I did however feel that it was difficult to get in to the restaurants at the hotels (we stayed at Disneyland Hotel) for breakfast, so I would highly recommend making PS (priority seating aka reservations) now, generally no big deal if you don't use them, but they will tell you when you the cancellation policy when you call. Have a wonderful time.

We were at DL last November and they didn't have the fingerprint scan.

But they certainly didn't check for ID with the park hopper tickets.

They should pay us to go to California Adventure. Us locals think it's a yawner. So there's happy you go over there and spend money. There is good food. And somebody talked me into going on the Hotel ride. Never again.
