Cool Driving Uphill & in Windy Conditions

Couple of weekends ago we took the kids for star gazing in the local mountains on a clear crisp & starry night. Incidently the dry wind gusts were between 15 & 25 mph and only occurring in the mountains and passes (Southern Calif).

Since it was my first time driving during really windy conditions I was quite amazed & happy at the way our 01 Ody stayed the course while climbing constantly @ 70 MPH and at over 3K RPM.

You could hear the growling winds and feel it hugging around the van's aerodynamics. I guess the design really pays an integral part of any vehicle.

Overall I was happy with the Ody's handling.

Wink

Your driving experience pretty much matches mine; I drive an '04 EX Ody, and really like the way the Ody handles the twisties as well. While the body does roll somewhat, the wheels stay firmly planted on the road.

For such a large and heavy vehicle with lots of near flat surfaces, it does quite well in the wind.

The Ody suspension combined with the excellent four wheel disc brake ABS system, really gives me confidence and a feeling of security when on the road with my family.

The best,

Tony

Ody and 18-wheelers

I agree with the Ody's ability to fend off the wind. I had a Windstar for a few months prior to the Ody. The Ody stays firmly planted when passing 18-wheelers while the Windstar was really pushed around. Even my girlfriend noticed the difference and she doesn't even drive.
