Dead Pedal Installation
Photos and text by Chuck Konarske

Following Hy's example, I finally ordered and installed a 1986 Accord dead pedal (part # 46990-SEO-GOO). I used 2" sheet metal screws to mount the pedal. Originally, I wanted to use nuts and bolts or nutserts and that's still an option if I ever have to remove the pedal for any reason. By that time, the carpet will be well-compressed and I'll have a lot less trouble getting things lined up. I could just do it now, but everything worked out so well that there's no point messing with it if I don't have to. Wow! A real dead pedal at last.
