thule.jpg (42810 bytes) I'm about 6'1" and can stand behind the van and slide the rack assembly onto the EX's side rails without help, but just barely.
thule2.jpg (42750 bytes) ......then just push the whole thing forward to the desired position.
thule3.jpg (39358 bytes) The rubber pad under the "foot" protects the side rails. Notice also that the bracket is tightened in an out-of-the-way position so nothing gets scratched going on or off.
thule4.jpg (39108 bytes) Loosen the bracket enough so the hooks can engage the mating holes on the other side of the rail.
thule5.jpg (38839 bytes) After getting the hooks in position, tighten the thumbnut.
thule6.jpg (39569 bytes) Like so. Ready for the covers.
thule7.jpg (52529 bytes) A cover for each of the four feet. Only one on each rail needs a lock.
thule8.jpg (38749 bytes) This is the side without the lock cylinder.…
thule9.jpg (39368 bytes) Don't forget to lock 'em down or the caps will fall off.
thule10.jpg (37494 bytes) Done - and putting the rack on or taking it off only takes about five minutes so you don't have to leave the rack installed.
thule11.jpg (44403 bytes) Now to wait for some decent weather.
thule12.jpg (33344 bytes) Lots of room for adding something else as long as it's lightweight.
