yakima.jpg (43980 bytes) 2001 Roc'nGate has easier to use rattler straps vs rubber stretch straps than 2000 model rack. Clicks tight one notch at a time w/ red levers.
yakima2.jpg (50220 bytes) Red round levers lift to tighten top tube of bike, while bottom rubber straps wrap the lower tube to keep bikes from rocking front and back.
yakima3.jpg (83946 bytes) Holds up to 4 bikes. Womens and kids bikes can use a tube top to create the level bar between the seat and handle bar.
yakima4.jpg (39664 bytes) Swing arm has a spring quick latch and a wing bolt to secure the arm together. Must be bolted tight to drive vehicle which is easy to do by hand with the large wing bolt.
yakima5.jpg (36294 bytes) Unscrew the wing bolt and the arm swings open (with full load). Both arm pivots can be latched to prevent bikes from swinging on a hill.
yakima6.jpg (37322 bytes) Roc'nGate comes with the QuickHitch red handle to tighten the bolt pin to the bike carrier to prevent it from wiggling. Had to grind down the black finger knob since it hits the lower hitch plate by 1mm.
yakima7.jpg (38451 bytes) Other side of bolt comes with a matching lock. Bike's StrataLock hides in the hitch arm and pulls out to lock over last bike - keyed alike.
yakima8.jpg (71291 bytes) Well thought out design. Worked well on our 300 mile trip to the mountains. Swing arm was great - easy to get into trunk at any time w/o unloading the bikes.
