Question Front End Mask vs 3M Clear Bra

Has anybody had any experience with the 3M Clear Bra. I have used the traditional black front end mask that needs to be taken off when wet on other cars. But the Clear Bra seems like a good alternative since it remains on the vehicle always for full time protection. Any comments would be appreciated, I am picking up my 2002 GG EX-L IVES in two weeks and need to decide if I should have the dealer install it.

    3m vs. bra

Congrats on the Ody. I have heard good things about the 3m film - but would not necessarily get it done at the dealer. I was quoted less than half the dealer cost at an auto tint shop for a custom cut shield(they have to order one specifically for the Ody, not just cut one out of a sheet). Some concerns are yellowing over time, but it should come with a lifetime warrenty. Just my 2 cents, oh yeah but with the exchange that comes down to about 1 cent.

See the thread at: https://www.odyclub.com/forums/showth...ight=scotchcal for a discussion of the 3M "Scotchcal" product.

There are discussions on various newsgroups on the net, try a search in groups at www.google.com on the term "scotchcal" or "3M clear" or something like that.

    Regards,

Thanks all for your input and advise. The dealer wants $190 to install the 3M product from sheet material. I also called a local shop who also does the clear bra and they wanted $150 and also used sheet material. I have seen the pre-cut kits somewhere on the internet, but I don't have a web address for a vendor who sells the pre cut 3M clear bra. My price quotes seem high compared to mojo's $100.00 job. Mojo, was yours dealer installed, and was it a pre-cut kit for the ody?
