I keep my floor vacuumed every month or so and plan on using our Hoover SteamVac on the carpets once winter is over. We use it in the house and it does a great job there!

Hey everybody, thanks for the idea with the hoover steamvac jr. I just ordered one from hsn.com for a real good price. With the coupon code 430105 for new customers, I got it for $34 including shipping. The coupon expires 4/30/05. Amazon.com has it for $59.88. The carpeting in my Odyssey got muddy really quick and I hope the steamvac will clean it up.

that bissell steam cleaner does not suck as strong as I expected overall I dont recommend the product I say find a good carpet cleaner and use the high powered vacuums at the car cleaners.

Hmm I think the steam cleaning is best way for cleaning at small level, because the steam helps to remove the old stains and the steam heat also kill the bacteria in the fabric. I think you have enough equipment to clean house items.

    Carpet Cleaning

Most greasy carpeting stains can be removed by rubbing on paint thinner with a clean, 100% cotton cloth. To efficiently perform carpet cleaning you can wipe stains from your carpet with baking soda.

I vacuumed my Ody yesterday and found that the dealership I got my van from didn't do a good job in cleaning. Outside was immaculate, but the inside had areas that were obviously not looked at carefully. The previous owner had spilled a liquid (looked like Chocolate Milk), Gold Fish and Cheerios where the 2nd row seats latch on to. I used a mixture of Simple Green and some water and scrubbed what I could off with a brush. I then used my Wagner 905 Steamer and blasted as much away as I could. I wish I had taken before and after pics because the results were amazing. I also found a few spots on the carpet where there was chocolate milk dried on. The Wagner Steamer liquified the chocolate milk and I was able to blot it up again.

    carpet cleaning

Having your carpet cleaned regularly can prevent mold and mildew growth, because professional carpet cleaners have high-powered drying tools that annihilate moisture. If you choose to clean your carpet yourself, use fans and turn on the air or open windows to help dry the carpet out faster.
