Sube goes 142 mph in 55 mph zone!!

For all you Subaru fans out there:

    http://www.theindychannel.com/news/10534496/detail.html

First off I know this stretch of the road he got caught on and
it is not safe to do even 85 because it is not an interstate and
there are several intersecting roads. He would never had a
chance to react if someone pulled in front of him. Second,
why would you as a perent give your son a car such as this?
He just doesnt have enough experience driving to know if he is
going to be a responsible driver. If I was the cop that pulled him
over he would have been cuffed and stuffed and onto jail.
At the least he should lose his licence until 18.

    What do you think?

I agree... he should go to jail. Many of us did stupid things with cars at that age... but 142??? Holy crap that is fast. The parents should never give a kid that age a car like that (I'm assuming it was a WRX.)

The cop had to travel at least as fast to catch the kid, thus doubling the risk to other motorists. Send the kid to jail and pull his licence for a year. After that, let his insurance company milk him dry for five years.

As his parent, I would definitely:

    1. Sell his car and forbid him to own a car for a least a year (which he would have to buy with his own money--no sport/muscle cars)
    2. Make him take public transit to get to school and work
    3. Give him a severe ass-whooping

....not necessarily in that order .

Then I would pay for racing school so he learns to race on the track and not the street.

Not necessarily. From the way they let him off, he probably slowed down as soon as he saw the cop/blue lights....and maybe even pulled directly over and waited, knowing he could get in a heckuva lot more trouble if he ran.
