    PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow H1

Just received a pair of these from Japan. They should have the same yellowish light as the Lexus i300. Does anyone have any experience with these bulbs? Do they last long?

PIAA's are the better of many brands of aftermarket bulbs. It depends on who you ask because I think some may say the PIAA's are not reliable because they blow out so soon. I've had PIAA's 9006 in the Accord for 4 years and no problems.

Plus with bulbs now trying to mimic the HID's output, the wattage have been increased. With the increase in wattage the bulbs become less reliable. So check your bulbs and see what the wattage is on your bulbs. I think if it is between 55watts - 65 watts, it is right around stock output. If the bulbs claim 85+ watts, it is running very hot.

I don't think there are any lights on the Ody. that use H1. The headlights are H4 and the fogs are H3. I think......

I'm looking for a similar bulb for the fogs. How much did you pay?

    Famguy:
The rectangular fog lights on the Ody use H1 bulbs while the small round ones use H3. There is a PIAA yellow ion crystal bulb which is H3 and would fit the round fog lights. Cost is about Cdn$100/pair here. You can get it at Autobarn for US$22.95 each.
    Do I need one?

Thanks for clearing it up K.H. $100.00 Cdn is around $60.00 US.
Typical PIAA price. I'll gotta save up for these. H1's are pretty hard to find. I'll check Autobarn.

    Unhappy

Well these PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow H1s don't work on my Oddy. They just don't lite up. My friend tested them in his shop and they work fine. Is there a compatible issue among H1 bulbs? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It should work. Did you put your old bulbs back? Did those work?
Maybe the PIAA from Japan have different connectors, but I don't think so.

I put the old bulbs back and they work fine. The connector is the same. Still can't figure out why.
