2007 Odyssey P0848 - Transmission Fluid Pressure switch

3rd gear pressure switch. Anyone have a pic of where its located and how to get to it?

From my internet research, its leading me to think its driver's side and its accessible from under the car.

Pulled the skid plate off and I think I see it. Problem is I have no idea how to get a wrench on it.

    Really could use the help!!!

thanks!! Still don't know how to get a wrench on it though The frame is in the way when I look up at it.

Also.. is there a special way to remove the electrical connection so I don't break it off?

Good luck with it. Let us know how it turns out. Hopefully the switch is the problem and it's not something more serious.

Hopefully. I am going to get the tranny fluid flushed as well. It drives fine. All gears seem to be shifting fine. Was on vacation when the "Check transmission" message came on. When I pulled the code at home it gave me the P0848 code and when I checked around on the internet, everything seems to lead me to change out the sensor. Wire looks good, tranny fluid looks and smells good too.

Just waiting on the part being delivered.

Just do 3 drain and fills with 10-15 mins of driving in between. 3.3 qt per drain and fill. Don't flush this trans.

Also, you can use the Honda DW-1 fluid or you can use Valvoline MaxLife ATF.

part arrived and installed in 5 minutes. Cleared the code, took it out for a drive and all seems well. Shifted through all gears at high and low speeds, downshifting, etc... Trans message did not appear.

Hopefully all is well. Some tranny fluid came out, about 2 tables spoons and it looks to be in very good shape and smelled like fresh tranny fluid rather than burned tranny fluid.

Have to do the fluid replacement later this week when I can get it some time.

Is there a drain plug or do I have to drop the pan? I'm assuming 3.3 will be left in the pan each time I drain and replace??

    Thanks again!!

Excellent! Hopefully there is no more issue.

The transmission drain and fill is just as easy as an engine oil drain and fill. There's a plug on the bottom and then you can either fill through the dipstick tube or there is a fill plug on the top toward the rear of the trans.

John, are these applicable to the 2008 EXL?
What publication/document does this come from, is there a link can we access the whole thing?

The 2007 and 2008 transmissions are different. Those pics are from my service manual and were for the 2007 transmission. Some of the switches and solenoids may be the same but I don't recall for sure.

    Ahh ok, thanks..

Where can I get hold of a service manual like that?
I got a Haynes for my 08 and changed the water pump and timing belt, unfortunately it was about as useful as using a fiat manual. My Haynes caravan manual was a lot better than this one, the one you have looks just what I need.

eBay is the only place I know of anymore to get a factory service manual. I have both a hard copy and a copy on CD. Something like a subscription to AlldataDIY would be a good option too.
