Get a Carfax. Get a pre-purchase inspection that includes underbody and mechanical. Drive vehicle.

Of course, as you probably know, 2010 was the last model year for the 3rd generation Odyssey. 2011 began the 4th generation model - an entirely new/different vehicle.

I would recommend looking at the Ody with 6 speed automatic. I do feel is way better than the 5 speed auto. With 6 gears, the 1st gear can be lower and the van can "rocket" off the line.

Also, the 6spd is the latest AT considering Honda applied everything it learned from past AT issues.

It was only on the Touring and Elite in the first few years, then it becomes all model wide. I now forget when the mid model refresh was. But get the 6 speed auto.

The mid-cycle model refresh when the 6-speed became standard across the line was in 2014. Our Ody has the 6-speed and it has been awesome - not even a single moment of trouble.

The 5-speed in the 07-10 ain't bad either. My 2010 odyssey is dynotuned and the 5-speed trans is taking it like a champ. IMO, the 5-speed is better than the 6-speed. The 6-speed's shifting is weird.

World of a difference. Not easy or cheap to do.
