I've enjoyed similar threads on other car forums, and found it really helpful in discovering features about my cars that I did not know existed.
The goal is to share a running list of new things owners learned or discovered about their cars. Good or bad. Big or small.
To get the ball rolling, here are a few observations based on my family's recent 3+K mile road trip in our MY'19 Elite:
1. I finally found a way to disable AC in the gen5 Odyssey (was a dedicated hardware button on gen3 Ody's, but no more), and that setting is preserved through multiple ignition on/off cycles! That is really helpful when you are driving with the windows down and/or sunroof open in 60-70F weather in FL. Hit "Front Climate" physical button below nav screen, touch "AC" software button and it will toggle between "on" and "off" states. Done.
2. RES is a life-saver on longer trips, as long as you bring along a large library of DVDs. When kids start using RES, you have to start playing some other audio stream (radio, etc) in parallel, else the car will pipe DVD sounds through the speakers. You can later turn your audio off, and DVD sounds will not resume, but you do need to take action to avoid listening to RES sounds. Minor annoyance.
3. "Walk away auto lock" is not compatible with family road trips. You stop at a gas station, go to the bathroom, come out to the car alarm blaring because car auto-locked itself with someone in the car, and then the motion detector triggered the alarm. I quickly learned how to disable it (main nav screen -> Settings).
