Replaced my 2008 Touring battery yesterday at Costco, but salesman showed me in the Interstate replacement guide that the battery I bought was not the same as the OEM - the OEM battery has flush vents. Did a Google search for battery flush vents and came up empty. Anyone know what a battery flush vent is, and why only the 2008 Touring uses a battery with a flush vent? I had previously (Dec 2011) replaced the battery with an AAA roadside service, and so didn't know about flush vents until now.

Yes, that's it. ^^^

The Honda battery has very low-profile vent caps (flush with the battery case). The serviceable vents on the Interstate are raised.

I also replaced my Honda battery with Interstate and noticed the difference.

2008 Honda Odyssey Battery replacement -- confused with this Flush Vents

Hi,

I have 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L and have the same question with the replacement battery. I also picked the same Interstate battery from Costco Size 24F and CCA 700, but it says that this car needs battery with flush vents.

Can I still install this battery on my car? what is the difference for batteries with flush vents and not with it. what extra care should I take if I can install this battery.
