I had this problem too. I had the seat restuffed with something softer. That helped for a while, but still an issue. I think the problem is the chair does not go down low enough. What I ended up doing was putting a foam tile and a magazine UNDER the mat to elevate your right foot. You want to get to the point where your foot is too high and then you can raise your chair and move it around to find the best comfort. Hope this helps someone.

I am having similar discomfort in both my left leg due to the bolster, and in my lower back (worse than my leg). I went from driving a 2009 Honda Accord LX-P to our 2015 Odyssey EXL. The test drive definitely didn't give me ample time to notice the seat discomfort - I suppose we were enamored by all of the other bells and whistles.

I am learning to live with the leg discomfort, but the lower back pain is really frustrating. The lumbar support is too hard and doesn't hit me in the right spot. All of the aftermarket pillows I have tried are too thick and causes me to arch my back (or at least it feels that way). I am average build - 5'10'' / 160 lbs...I really don't know what to do as I am now at the point where I have started physical therapy.

Note that this is my first car with leather - having to live through Upstate NY winters we were excited about heated seats. Our other car is a 2005 Ford Freestar (avoid like the plague), but I find those seats to be more comfortable than our Odyssey. Sad that I am hoping my wife will swap with me so that I can drive the rusty, no-tech car.

I certainly appreciate having this forum to vent. Any advice or words of wisdom are certainly welcome and appreciated.

Help with leg pain

So disappointed! Just purchased a 2015 Odyssey 3 weeks ago. We had a 2001 Town & Country for 14 years. I didn't realize it until now, but I guess the seats were ultra plush in that vehicle. When test driving the Odyssey, I noticed some pain almost immediately in my right leg in the hamstring area. I questioned the salesman about if anyone else had commented about the uncomfortableness of it, he said no. I assumed I would just adjust to it or figure out away to adjust the seat to make it more comfortable. NO such luck, 3 weeks later and the pain has increased so much I cannot stand to drive it. I have tried extra padding and cushions, nothing seems to help. I don't know what to do, I have never had this problem before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I hate being so unhappy with this big, new purchase. Especially since I am in it all the time.:(

I would head to your nearest upholsterer and have them put in some softer foam or add/subtract foam where needed, good luck.

Front all the way up, bottom all the way back, then raise/lower the rear til it feels comfortable. We've done 10K mile trips like this in total comfort. Good luck with yours.

I know what you mean - I just returned from a road trip across the holidays and my lower back is suffering from it. I like almost everything else about the Odyssey...I just wish the seat wasn't so damn uncomfortable. I may switch w/my wife for our nine-year-old Ford Freestar (how sad is that).

I think I understand what you mean by "front all the way up" (adjust seat angle to the highest point), but what do you mean by "bottom all the way back"?

Bottom all the way back means adjust the bottom seat cushion so that it's all the way back.

Well, picked up the car last night, 2015 EX and...that seat is uncomfortable! Never felt pain in the back after 10 minutes of driving any car before. Hope they are going to soften up a bit otherwise we're in trouble.
What is Honda thinking? My 2003 Accord had the most comfortable seat I've ever had...

Sounds like a change in the lumbar will help, good luck. If that doesn't work, modifying the angle of the bottom cushion as well as the seat back angle might help, too.

Played with the lumbar support and it helped. I will try to play with the other angles as well, thanks. Still never had to do such intensive fitting with any car seat before.
Just wondering if you came up with a solution for the uncomfortable driver seat in the ODY. As the seat is moved forward, it also rises, which ends up putting pressure on the backs of the thighs for drivers with short legs (me). Obviously, the answer is less height at the front of the seat when it is moved forward. Anyone figured out how to do this without major mods to the seat?

having come from an older car that lacked the many degrees of seat adjustment (fore/aft, up/down, tilt, lumbar) and steering wheel adjustment that the ex-l provides, i'm amazed by the ability to customize the fit.

only wish for me, is for a less wide or more bolstered seat...seems it's designed for more plump american drivers.
This! Many muscle/back issues respond better to firmness than extra padding. I have one of these for road trips. Works great. Pez.

I've found that the seat bottom cushion does not go low enough in the front. About the only way one could fix something like that is to remove the rear bolts and add a couple flat washers or a bushing and replace the bolts. That would raise the back of the seat and lower the front of it. Being short at 5' 7" with short legs, I have found this to be a problem on many makes of late model cars, with some of the smaller Fords being the worse. You may not have this problem if you are 6 feet tall.
