I have a 2007 Odyssey EXL. While driving on the freeway the speedometer stopped working and the D started flashing. When I put the scanner on it, code P0722 came up. I ordered a new output speed sensor from the dealership. I was following the instructions to replace it in my Haynes manual. It is supposed to be on top of the transaxle but I cannot see it anywhere. Does anyone have a picture or a diagram of where you would find this on my model? Thanks.

There are two of these sensors (but different part numbers.) One on the input shaft and one on the output shaft. The P0722 code is for the output shaft. Both sensors are on the lower front of the trans. According to my 2008 factory service manual you have to remove the splash shield to get to them. It's #14 in the diagram below:

Here is a photo after I installed the new output speed sensor. The photo should be rotated clockwise 90 degrees. The sensor with the blue connector is the main shaft (input) speed sensor. To its right is the output (countershaft) speed sensor (the dealership called it the pickup sensor). It's in a pretty tight spot but I was able to change it out pretty easily. The worst part of the job was removing the splash guard. I'm going to have to buy about 10 new grommets (or I might use zip ties) to put it back together. Thanks John for posting the diagram.

Yeah, it's a good idea to have some of those clips on hand when you know you're going to take that thing off. Half of them always break.

Hi John,

The diagram doesn't show up when I click on it - it says 404 Not Found. Any chance you could post it again, or let me know what I am doing wrong when I click on it?
