2002 Stock Odyssey 118 mph fuel cut out. The feeling was a little abrupt when it cut out, but it goes right back at it as soon as you drop below 118. I had similar results in my 96 LX 4cyl accord.

The speedometer says 140 in my 00 Odyssey. Will it really do 140?

You seem savvy enough to realize that you could just note the tachometer reading and compute the speed from that. That would probably be more accurate than and speedometer reading anyway.

:duh: Well you know what I ment by odmeter. I forgot the speed in speedometer.

What bothers me more than the density of traffic, is the density of the drivers.

Here's my simple answer to the first question: no. On I-25 in Northern NM my sister and I and our families were returning from Santa Fe in our 2 Odysseys on the same day that (apparently) a Porche convention let out. We were running steady at 80 MPH (Limit is 75), after about the 50th Porche pasted, this one bright red I talked to my Brother-in-law on the family band radio and said, "Let's find out what these things will do . . .we're not going to get tickets in Blue and Silver minivans when there are red Porches going by." Sis's 2002 went 118 MPH, and got there before our '99 was past 110, (an extra gear and 35 extra HP make a difference) by ours continued to accelerate to 125 MPH. I kept it up just long enough to go around them. :D. We didn't even come close to catching that Porche.

Dense drivers, as with the poor, will always be with us. The rules of the road must allow for the diversity in skill levels, even though lots of drivers disagree. We just got back to our state from a cross-country trip and it is amazing how many folks refuse to slow for lower speed limits in construction zones and high density traffic areas. I'm sure those folks would be the first to blame the other guy, should an accident occur.

The just-replaced RL has a C35 engine while the Odyssey & Pilot (along with several other Honda/Acura models, including the NEW RL) have J series V6's. The only other car available right now with a C series engine is the NSX.

Furthermore, Joe Sawyer (who owns Locash Racing, which you linked to) is indeed an authorized Hondata dealer. He's also a friend of mine. I knew this already but conferred with him to confirm the following -- Hondata does NOT make an ECU product for the Odyssey. Not yours, not anyone's.

The odessey has 2 platforms that it is built on, the Accord and RL The one that is sold in Lageat japan is built on the RL platform c35a1 motor(3.5 V6) we like big cars. Most of japan has the ones built on the Accord platform-k24a motor(2.4 V6) they like small.
Again, rife with errors. None of the minivans use the C35 engine. The K24 is a 2.4L 4 cylinder engine (found here in the Accord, Element, CR-V [160hp variant] and Acura TSX [200hp variant])

You ripped a member for asking technical questions and now you're spewing misstatements left and right.

aaaah no!

The Odyssey is built off the global medium platform... which means it's based on the Accord. Think NA Accord, TL, global Accord (TSX) and perhaps also the JDM "small" vans.

The "large" vehicles have a streched version of this platform. That is the Odyssey, Lagreat, Pilot and MDX.

They all share either the J series V6 or nowadays the K series four banger.

The RL always rode on its own platform and engine, but I don't know if the current, 05, has migrated to the midsized platform. As I recall the current one has the engine mounted accross so that would indicate that possibility. Plus in the SH-AWD video that Honda released a few months ago, the test mule was an Accord, so that again would indicated that the RL is now riding on the Global Midsized Platform.

The last RL used the C35A2... before that they had variations of the C32A... see this place:
http://www.superhonda.com/tech/honda_engine_codes.html

I can tell you that the C32A (which we owned in a 97 3.2TL) was a much torquier but lowered redlined motor than the J engines we've owned in two CLs, one TL and two Odysseys.

So, the nature of that C motor is very relaxed -can be that is... does it have potential? Though? well, the NSX has a C motor too.

I don't know what motor they've migrated to with the 05. It might be the J motor or maybe they held on to the old version. Perhaps, if they grafted iVTEC onto the C motor, that might portend the next NSX, but if they went with a J35, then it might also mean that the next NSX will debut off that motor.

The 94-98 Honda odessey, Isuzu oasis, 92-present honda prelude is built on the same platform as the 89-97 accord. You can put a pelude motor in any of those.

Then the 99- present odessey and the pilot is built on the Acura RL platform. These three share the same motor.

Same goes for integra and civic
